I think now that we’ve had months and months to reflect we won’t be so eager to sell out our field stations , I know I’ve come to appreciate them and the people who I work n them more . We MUST push for increased job protections in the new TA , but we must ALSO remain mindful of business needs as well .A station with two flights a day isn’t worth the time and effort to keep .One thing I worry about thou is that if we do chop any stations that it be fair ,I’d hate to see fleet get the boot yet the ticket counter agents get to keep their jobs .

Redeye,

I totally agree with you, but most don't think like us. If you look at the pay scales for hp/ua/us at the 5 yr mark, you may come to the same conclusion I have. Canale probably wanted the TA signed so when UA comes a-courtn the IAM will be somewhat of a hero. Here's why!

5 year employee

HP- 9.59 ( How disgusting is that. Shame on the TWU )

UA- 11.82 ( + $2.23 for West )

US- 14.23 ( + $4.64 for West if the TA was signed )

So.....I don't think the scale will be like the UA scale so much, but close. The IAM company will not risk the middle of the TA scale because they want to keep
those votes. I think you will see an improvement at the top wage to compensate for the COC.

The Hero part is that if UA does come about then the middle of their wage scale comes UP!!!

I know what you mean about the outsourcing. I've been there. Saw the Hubs give us up for $1 hr.
Guarranteed the west will give it up for $4

It's reality!!!!!!!!

necigrad,
That qoute does not quite answer the question. "30 to 60 days upon recess of the system board" When do you think that might be? The final breifs were submitted on the 16th of Nov. Would it be 30 to 60 days from that date? When does the system board meet? Who decides when to recess? That is why I posed the question. Just curious if anybody has any insight?

When the final briefs are submitted, as I understand it, the System Board adjournes. There is nothing to left for them to do. The the arbitor will review them and make his decision in the following 30-60 days. That means mid January to mid Feburary. I'm going to throw a $0.02 cent bet on the first full week of Feburary.

Freedom
It will be Deja Vu ......it doesn't work that way

Mike: Maybe I'm being too sinnical but I think the middle part of the west will
pay for the senior east. It only needs to pass by 50 plus one. I
hope I'm wrong. A west AGC talked to our infamous chair a couple of days
ago. He mentioned the Jan TA.
Again mabey my pessamistic nature is going wild but I'm wondering
If they are putting the rumor out just to see how the anti IAM forces react
so they can preemt any sence we start to make. OMG. BF

PS in regard to the field station issue I'm afraid thier gonna be toast. Niether
the west hubs nor the IAM care about them. And the ones on the cusp at the
present time probably represent about 200 employees. Mike... your comment
to Freedom is right on. Doug Parker isn't just concerned about a few rampers
with nothing to do in BF Egypt. He's got slightly bigger goals than that. Other
wise why bother? It makes no sence to go through the hastle of trying to get
rid of such a small amont of the ramp unless he had bigger plans down the road.

PPS. What Kind of COC, Merger or Quazi Merger language will be in the new
TA? Answer: Zero OMG BF
