Slot Swap

Congrats, Doug Parker. You've given up on NYC, the largest aviation market in the country.
And does largest equal the most profitable? Does the largest market draw the most competition and therefore make profits illusive, absent substantial market share? Given how long and hard fought this victory was, it would certainly lead one to believe that it makes excellent financial sense.

Pretty ignorant, aren't you? Well, there may be hope for you. Carry on, private.

It looks like there might still be another gate to get through.

They will initially be filled by mainline Airbuses. After about 6 months, they will transition slowly to E190s, then E 170s, next CRJs and ERJs, and by the end of two years it will be mostly Dash 8s and Saabs.

That's how they did it at LGA.

Of course, some of the Dash 8s are timing out and headed for the scrap heap permanently, so they will be searching the market for some other carrier's beat up Dashes to replace them.

"While US Airways has said it will scrap most of its money- losing LaGuardia operations to focus on Washington..."

Seems that "largest market" doesn't mean profitable, at least for US...

REVENUE, Doesn't mean profit! MM! Your Words!
Close enough that I'll accept that paraphrasing. "Money-losing" is a term relating to PROFIT or lack thereof, not revenue. If you'd pay attention rather than making stuff up you might learn something.

Now, what about that REVENUE breakdown for PHX that you mentioned...
