That is too bad. It was nice way for US travellers in the Northeast to get there without having to via PHX - which is a bit out of the way.

Ooops, just the typo in the title, should have been ANC-PHL.

Just a rumor and no substantiation of fact, but heard there might be another PHL/LGW for the summer of 2012 to meet added demand from the Olympics; although if true, wouldn't that be in the system by now? The 757 from the ANC service might be where they get the 757 for the rumored PHL/LGW service.

This rumor is false .

This was seasonal, wasnt it? Is it not coming back next May? Maybe theyre going to have a spare 757 in PHL for summer TA season for broken issues? That would be nice, wouldnt it?

My guess is that it's not a problem for travelers in the northeast. They just fly other carriers that don't need to take them to PHX first.

True, but missed revenue for our beloved US.

On TATL speculation, it looks like there will be no new cities or reduced seasonality in 2012. As far as speculation or wish lists, I'd like see US return to Scandinavia, or maybe MXP.

Most predictions for the European economy in 2012 aren't good - recession is frequently mentioned. I don't think US is alone in reducing seasonal service to secondary markets.

Would probably make more sense to try to add another FRA flight instead since we have tons of connections available there to fill a plane. We get lots of double connections over FRA.

additional frequencies to London (LHR and LGW) would be prudent with the upcoming Summer Olympic Games and the Queen's Golden Jubilee. These are MAJOR events in the Grand scheme of things. A little more News Worthy events rather than the Beerfest at Tempe Town or the Ice Cream Social on the Rio Salado). A return to Milan would be welcome as well.

The next TA capable aircraft deliveries, A332's, don't come till the 2nd half of 2012. While the first few could be in time for the Summer Olympics, if 2011 deliveries are any guide few if any of them will arrive before the 4th quarter - after the Olympics are over. Then there's the slot issue, at least at LHR (don't know about LGW). What with BA buying BMI, some slots may become available in time for the Olympics but there will undoubtedly be high demand for them.

While I haven't seen anything, it may be that the UK would allow extra service for the Olympics but unless US had the airplanes there's not much they could do to take advantage of it.
