According to Bush, they weren't doing their job in Iraq...so it can be safely assumed that they aren't doing their job in Darfur. So if "helping people" is the goal of the Bush administration - when do we send the troops?

No...the Bush modus operandi seems to be to ask your Generals how many troops you'll need, then divide that number by the number of stealth bombers you have...then divide the difference by the number of stealth fighters you have, and THAT'S the number of troops we need to send.

Remember...this is a leaner and meaner fighting force.

And just what does the behavior of dems do to demonstrate support or concern for the welfare of those folks out there right now?

Dialog and debate about Iraq or any other issue falls under those 'inalienable rights' that we all cherish in the Constitution. But it also implies that one necessarily put forward clear and viable alternative ideas which work for the public good.

Just what do the dems have to offer to this equation other than conducting a rear-guard harrassment campaign whose purpose has nothing to with truely helping and standing by our troops, but everything to pander to voters for an election still 16 months away.

We're back to the "time to clear the colon argument".

Realism means that you gotta put the whole enchilda on the table and not just the beans you want to throw at republicans.

Nobody is squeaky clean in this world. History tells the story warts and all. America made an assessment about Iraq in this post 9-11 world and we err about the complexity of the problem. This is a far cry from refusing to admit that there are problems and dangers which are often intractable, but still require a decision.

Want some more inconvenient truths? There's a former UK MP ( Mr. Galway ) who may again go under indictment for aiding and abetting Saddam's government's oil for money scams ( which helped keep the regime on people's throats ). Bribe is the real name for what he took as a member of Parliament.

Why no outrage? Well, he was a member of the liberal party and this creates an inconvenient truth which validates just how imperfect this world around us really is.

No surprise to me that the dems downplay these things as we'd then have to look at what the governments of Russia, France, and Germany were doing with Saddam with likewise shady deals.

No, it's easier to denigrate your own country and the president than it is to admit how dirty the world really is.

Never said you were KC, though I certainly do assail the democrats for their loose wordplay. Just goes to show the fallout when words are flung about without considering the real meaning of words ( and of that, both political parties are guilty ).
