In the last many years...Zero.FWAAA said:Exactly. It's only January 29. For you guys who work outside in this weather, you've really taken it on the chin.
Here in my corner of Los Angeles, it's currently 77, like it's been for several weeks.
On Sunday, the local news station showed a story from New Orleans, where icy bridges last Friday resulted in pile-ups on the bridge and the NOLA local police didn't even show up until Saturday noon. Took the local PD almost 24 hours to arrive. One direction of the bridge was closed the entire time, as nothing was done, no cars were towed until mid-day on Saturday. How many icy days like that does New Orleans get?
Yes,you are correct IMHO.BABABOOY said:Def not defending ATL but maybe it was the untreated roads with ice under the snow
combined with unskilled drivers?
Why after all these years they can't invest in salt/ice melt trucks is beyond me.
The city officials are incompetent.
Yea good weather but we are in a severe drought condition.Kev3188 said:I think I'm gonna cry...
Lucky you! I'm willing to give you all of mine.xUT said:Yea good weather but we are in a severe drought condition.
Woke up this morning in the bay area and it was 66 degrees.
Yea, I miss snow... 😛
I have been on and off of hold with Crew Sced, Crew Tracking & Crew Accommodations since 12:30 today! It is now 9:30PM and I can still hear the on hold music playing as we still NEED HELP! There has GOT TO BE a better way to handle things in bad weather!!...Our end result up to this point is, we had a 2:45 pick-up for our 4:45 dep to ATL which by the grace of a monitor was able to get our pick up moved to 5:30PM....and now here we sit after many many changes and are now currently scheduled to fly to ATL landing at 2AM!!! After much waiting we got a hotel room in downtown ATL and when we called the transportation company to see if they would be able to take us there, they said ABSOLUTELY NOT! We will NOT be taking any crews downtown, it's too dangerous to drive!!? REALLY? Now what do we do? Sleep in an airplane? Sleep in the lounge?...Do they then expect us to work tomorrow with no sleep? no shower? and how will they know our situation when no one answers the phone?...Man I wish I had a blankie now!!, I'm going to need it!
How did Delta fare in ATL?
Why are you getting your panties in a wad? 700 never mentioned DL in his post....spare us
AA didn't magically restart their operation the minute the ice stopped falling either. It was chaos. Do you have logs of where AA and B6 crew members slept during their weather events?
DL has operated a far higher percentage of flights during the ATL weather event than AA did at DFW or B6 did at JFK. And DL's operation at ATL is regularly far larger than either of those. Apparently, 700, there are enough DL employees who not only managed to get where they needed to be but they also
yes it does.Kev3188 said:In the context of this thread, does it matter what AA or B6 (or UA, or WN, NK, etc.) did/didn't do?
Remember, this is what the OP asked:
How 'bout you stick to the OP's question, and stop worrying about what everyone else's doing?Further, when 700 wants to start posting the blow by blow of every other airline's operational issues - including crew comments as freely as he is to cut and paste FB comments to this site, then I'll quit asking for him to hold union airlines to the same standard.
Why miss an opportunity to launch a diatribe? Why are you getting your panties in a wad? 700 never mentioned DL in his post....
There is an ignore function. If what he-or anyone- posts bothers you so much, use it. It's quite useful, really.I am sick and f89g tired of having to read his endless and mindless union drivel and having it defended by people like you that are so far out of step with what Delta Air Lines is about but determined in your mind that you represent anyone other than your own self.
Great. Just don't complain about being tired of reading someone's posts.WorldTraveler said:I don't put anyone on ignore because I am not giving anyone a platform to speak without being challenged.
Nope, but I would like it to respect the OP's question, and keep this one on topic. Can you help us out with that?wanna get the thread locked now?
