Southwest contractor Expanding to TPA

There have been two major developments with Pemco World Air Services this week.

Employees at Pemco World Air Services in Dothan are working on converting a passenger airplane to a cargo aircraft.

They do maintenance for customers’, Northwest Airlines, Southwest Airlines and International Lease Finance. However, with the recent sale to Suncapital Partners, Pemco will expand their customer base.

Pemco in Dothan currently employees 850 employees.

Pemco officials say the current employees are safe. In fact, they should be adding 150 more employees over the next two years.

In a separate deal, but along the same growth line, Pemco is expanding to two hangers at Tampa International Airport, which used to be occupied by U.S. Airways and Delta, where experienced maintenance crews are ready to work
