What's new

Split topic- How many mechanics does it take to fix a coffepot?

It was a coffee maker shop, it repaired and overhauled the coffee makers that in the galley on the aircraft.

Coffee maker, nav light assy's, ect were repaired in house in the electric shop, there was never a specific shop just for coffee makers.

That is funny, on the second floor of the Charlotte Hangar there was a SEPERATE Coffee Maker Shop, which was a seperate bid area and not part of any other shop.

Better go check your information.

Funny I seem to remember the bid area # and do not recall the one for the coffee maker shop, and looking through one of the old contract books on qualifications required I see instrument, avionics, weld , electric, ect but no specific coffee maker shop. I think it was a in-shop bid area of the electric shop maybe?

Nope, the electric shop in CLT was a seperate bid area from the Coffee Shop, there also was a placard shop, you won't see that in the contract either.

I had a good friend who worked in the coffee maker shop and I use to deliver parts to it.

I believe it was 472 002. They also fixed the espresso makers on the A330.

Before all this shop work was vendored out, The Battery Shop and the Coffeemaker Shop were Bid under the name "Electric Shop"..

Not in Charlotte, in Charlotte it was a seperate bid area as was the Battery shop.

700, 700, I will not argue with you further on something as "Mickey Mouse" as this, But let me assure you, The Electric Shop consisted of the Battery Shop and the Coffeemaker Shop.. Yes, In Charlotte...I worked in the Battery Shop for a short while in the late 90's..

They both had differant bid areas and differant dept #s, I delivered enough parts to both shops and had friends that worked their too.

You're STILL WRONG......BOTH jobs Bid are under the ELECTRIC SHOP....Once you report to the Lead mechanic of the ELECTRIC SHOP, He will either assign you to the Battery Shop or the Coffeemaker Shop.

You can lead a horse to water........

Does not matter if the shops were physically not at one location, [They were'nt] ,or if they had different Department numbers, [They Did]....
