LCC is down $3.39 as of 15:55. Any thoughts on why? Oil stocks are down, so I can't see that as the reason.

It's a buying opportunity? Go ahead and average down. Try to catch that falling knife.

🙂 Hey just like Walmart which is what we are of the skies.....Watch for falling prices.

That is interesting....

Everyone got hammered...but LCC did take the heaviest hammer to the head... a little more then 10% of value. Interestingly, AA took the least amount of hammering, as a % of value.

The 3rd quarter numbers are going to be interesting. The thing that makes US extremely vulnerable is that the management has basically "commoditized" the business, that is, not differentiated it or provided any compelling reason (positioning) to purchased the product.

Conventional wisdom in the business world is you ONLY do this when you have some effeciencies you can leverage against. Now, we all know "CASM" ain't a leverage point...so I still say, the positioning on this product is very, very poorly executed.

During a downdraft, "commoditized product" gets hit the hardest.....I've seen it happen more times then I wish I had. Sadly.

The paragraph above isn't consistent with today's results:

Among large US-based legacy airlines (ignoring the Chinese), AMR (AA's parent corp) was down the greatest percentage, off 14.39%. LCC was down the second largest percentage, off 11.60%.

OMG, thank you for pointing that out....I was just scratching my head wondering how the hell I made that mistake...and then I figured it out....I typed in "AA" into my software....and, like an idiot, just hurled that out. Sheesh. Sorry 'bout that.

I stand corrected....and thanks for correcting. (This is one of those things where I should just remove the post....but then it screws up the thread.)
