Tariffs

Answer to another reason why we have Tariffs on Mexico. 🇲🇽 Mexico needs to let our Military go into their Country and kill the Cartels. And the ingredients come from China 🇨🇳

Ronnie made that video 40 years ago doofus. Things change in 40 years. Or maybe you’re still listening to your old Devo records.

I’m sorry but didn’t you get chucked out on your butt at AA and they never let you back through the door?

Cue sad bitter heard a million times rant. Triggered
I know when he made it.

I know things change.

However theft and tariffs are not a new thing and Reagan was not a stupid man. I've actually studied tariffs going back all the way to Persia (present day Iran) during Trump's first presidency. Persia used to be THE trade capital of the world. My opinion is tariffs help protect domestic production but, I am no economics expert. Reagan thought they were more detrimental than beneficial.

They didn't chuck ME. American Airlines decided to get rid of Fleet Service at TULE. I had the option of quitting, taking the layoff, bumping, or putting in a local transfer. I chose to take the layoff. I had already made the decision I was leaving long before they told us they were getting rid of Fleet Service and was already through most of my schooling. I figured I could always put in an internal transfer later if things didn't work out with my new career. Fortunately for me they worked out very well. I have NO regrets leaving American Airlines. I make far better money now, I get to work from home, and I don't like the UNION work culture at American Airlines and am glad to be rid of it. You believe whatever you want though. It seems you think that American Airlines is the center of the universe. There ARE other jobs out there. Maybe instead of trying to stick it to me you could show some sympathy for all the people that lost their jobs that had nothing else going on. You know a lot of those guys were ex TWA and them closing that shop down really had a negative impact on their life because they all had 4/10 seniority and not a lot of options.

Again, I make more money than you and get to work from home. If you have to have some Walmart fantasy to cope with the fact that someone can make it in the world without being an employee of American Airlines than so be it.

That's right. And usually they are unloading ships every day. For the whole country, not just Walmart. So if they aren't unloading ships and Walmart's warehouses empty out of product they bought before the tariffs - what will happen to prices?
I understand the concept of what you are saying. My reply is I have seen NO disruption of goods. None. All the stores have full shelves of the same products they have always had.

I have seen a few companies (they sell high end consumer flight simulation gear) state they are not shipping product to the United States until the tariffs calm down because their products are expensive and they do not want the backlash of customer "sticker shock". However these are niche products that are NOT mass produced and are not sold in brick and mortar stores. In fact most Americans would not even know these companies exist.

So I will capitulate we are not getting some niche products but as far as mass produced, everyday, common items, I have seen no shortage of those.

You say the ports are empty but if that was true I would have noticed a very obvious shortage of common goods by now.

He’s partially right that we are going to start seeing over time more empty store shelves. A Freight Ship from China 🇨🇳 can take anywhere from 14 to 40 days to reach the West and East coasts. But you’re also right that we aren’t going to see a major reduction in things we purchase daily. Orders are being cancelled in mass for a lot of the plastic crap that we don’t pay day to day attention to. You’ll really start to notice starting next month when the warehouses start to drain.

We’re essentially shut down from everything that comes from China. Our Trade “War” is pretty much only with them. All the other Countries we’re just renegotiating with.

Would you please do yourself a favor and stop getting triggered every time I’m obviously 🙄 looking to trigger you. I even made the comment that I was trying to trigger you so you’d avoid trying to kick the Football 🏈 again Charlie Brown. Jeez.

My comment about Reagan is that 40 years ago which was still fresher on trading with China 🇨🇳 he would have had no clue that the CCP were so absolutely, totally, brutally and completely evil like we know today they are.

YOu live a very sad life. It's a shame and life is so short. But on the plus side, I guess you're happy.

You really wouldn't. Get back to me in October.

The notable term “long run” 🏃‍♂️ We live in a Country that’s gotten too accustomed to instant gratification. Instant Breakfast turned in to instant shopping and a spoiled society demanding instant results.

Wake up to your new reality buttercups

President Trump is CEO of the shopping Mall of America 🇺🇸 and he’s looking for massive profits.

The CCP 🇨🇳 can never 👎 be trusted period and we should decouple from everything we can with them.
