My point is - why modify "the greatest trade deal ever"? HE negotiated that agreement and it was not touched by Biden. And he is alienating one of our closest allies because they are supposedly screwing us over under an agreement that he negotiated. Sorry but the man had the SAME people around him and advising him back then. HE negotiated "the greatest trade deal ever" and it included tariffs. Then he swoops in and violates his own agreement.

I would have loved it if the presidents of Mexico and Canada would have said something like 'Thank you mister president. This trade agreement we are working under was created by an idiot and allowed us to royally screw over America...you surprised us because no previous presidents gave any serious thought to tariffs...if they had, they would have negotiated a far more balanced...far fairer trade agreement for your country. Such a stupid, horrible deal"

Just paint him as an utter idiot. And when he might try to blame Biden, point out that Biden wasn't it office when that agreement went into effect.

Just a thought. Perhaps the BBB is the way it is so it would get passed. It can get fine tuned later. Kinda like the Constitution that had some not perfect things in it so all states would ratify. Then later amendments fixed things.

He had a trade agreement in place (NAFTA) and he hated it. Made no bones about it. So he renegotiated it and proclaimed it the "greatest trade agreement ever" and it was implemented in July 2020. . That didn't sound like a "I'll change this in my next term" kind of statement, T

Reconciliation has narrow parameters. That’s why they had to strike a few things or they would need 60 votes.
