Back in 2003...and every year since then...when I asked "where are we getting the money to fund this war we shouldn't even be fighting"...I was called America hater, troop hater and terrorist sympatizer. Today, people saying the EXACT SAME THING..."Where are we getting all this money to pay for these bailouts"...and they are "patriots". What a difference a democrat in office has made.

People like to dismiss earmarks out of hand. The problem is that for every "bridge to nowhere," there is usually something that is/will be very beneficial to society. As an example, the funding that was used to map the human genome originated in an earmark. I doubt many people would call that "pork."

Obviously, the hard part is separating the wheat from the chaff. That effort needs to come from both sides of the aisle.

I can't believe you don't see through that crap...................you aware that O's transition team called every member of Congress right after the election to see what projects they wanted in their districts?
Why do you think he went against his campaign pledge on pork just for that bill ?
He quickly changed his position once that bill was passed.
You don't think for a minute when he wants a bill passed that the member isn't contacted and reminded 'they got that money'??
That's how the DC palm is greased my friend.

Most of these people are so far removed from what the original tea party was...it is comical at best.

It isn't a clone of the original.....or is intended to be one.
Its a coming together of people from political opposites who are getting tired of they way things are run in DC.
People who want real government.
People who voted for O and realize they screwed up and he's just another smooth talker.
People who are tired of endless bureaucracies,legislation and BS.

Ordinary people wanting real representation.....

You see how quickly they are demonized by the left media as right wing extremists?

I never heard so much scared BS in my life.

This may be a start of a new political movement this country needs....just watch the DNC and RNC come together to squash it.

Brace yourself dell...I agree with you. Ask any person who has their senator or congressman vote against money being spent in their district if they would vote to re-elect him. Odds are good that they wouldn't because he "didn't fight for his constituents". If that very same money was "earmarked" to be spent for an identical project in a different state, those same voters would be crying about "pork".

They complain about bail outs and taxes , but few of them understand the need to keep our nations largest banks solvent or why AIG a third party insure must be bailed out … They cry out that they are being taxed to death , yet it escapes them that if the economy collapses taxes will no longer matter along with any money they have in the bank ….

BTW did you know that one of the single biggest government redistribution of wealth was enacted and expanded under Republican Presidents. I'm referring to the Earned Income Tax Credit. You could look it up.

Last year I prepared my brother-in-laws taxes. He worked a few months that year (a good year for him, but that is another story). He ended up getting back several hundred dollars more than he paid in taxes because of the EITC.

I might as well have just handed him the money out of my wallet. :angry:

But i think your sadly lacking in the econmic reality department ....

Our country is dying around us at this very moment , and by that i mean our ECONOMY ...

Now you talk about the entitlement programs , some of which are necessary and some of which are not ,i feel that the health care reforms while noble are poorly timed ..

The stimuls package and other such programs to help people out are necessary to prevent social unrest ...

Crime and misery are increasing in this country ... i'm all for taking every possible measure to tackle both of those issues ...

As to you pointing out that i'm a threat to FREEDOM , you are in fact correct , i beleive that first one has to have SECURITY before they can have freedom ...

Also your still missing the big picture here with the tax protestors , they are against the TARP , the bail out of AIG and the other steps that have been taken to stablize our ECONOMY ... our ECONOMY , our ECONOMY .. and i said it three times so that it's clear ... our number one goal should be to attempt to stalblize our ECONOMY ...

if you've got a way to do it by letting our largest banking instutions FAIL .. then i'm all ears ..
