TEN MORE DAYS, " PLEASE"

I like the "Countdown to Shutdown" header. It sounds much worse than CHAOS. Either way, the F/A's need to force NWA to put up or shut up! just my thoughts.....

There are problems with independent unions, as you guys have already seen, but with your own union you have more accountability.

AFA is a corporation. They are also a bankrupt corporation. The dumbest thing NWA FAs did was to get them as their union. Most of the FAs they represent are at bankrupt, layoff ridden, carriers and they need all the dues money they can get.

CHAOS was a BS ploy made up to save dues money. If you just do a full on strike then you will have no company and no employees to squeeze dues money out of for major union salaries.

The fact that this joke of a union is giving a 10 day extension tells you all you need to know. Hmm....the company screws you, you vote to strike, you vote down 2 TAs and they threaten to impose a contract, but let's give them more time. Yeh right.

Hey, just give em more time so they can train replacements.

I was counting on the F/A's to take a stance because mechanics and pilots have no gonads to say enough is enough!

The AFA is a fraud. They work for the company and not the members, just like the TWU. Looks like the NWA F/A's voted in a loser! The AFA said they would bring "leadership" and "experience" to the NWA f/a's, yet the AFA is in NWA airlines management's pockets. How much of a bribe did Pat Friend, Mollie Reiley, and Danny Campbell get to sell out the NWA membership?
Hey princess. What did the NWA F/A's expect? AFA is a corporation. They have nothing but dues in their mind. They will sell out. I hope there will be an agreement, but if the NW f/a's expect a strong stance from their union, AFA will not give it..

Hopeful,

Regarding the NWA Mechanics - Right, they really had 'BIG GONADS' as you said...now they are ALL on the street.

However, you are right. The extra time by the F/A union has only allowed NWA to secure the replacment plan. As many have said in the past - Two weeks to train a new F/A.

The company is saying no, no, no please don't strike or CHAOS it would kill us. That is what they want the F/A's to believe...it's like a well though out chess game, It's a thinking mans game at this level. The Mechanics union did not think it through...I hope the F/A's have learned from others mistakes.

Typical ALPO response.

When the requirement for ATP Type Certificates is down to 1000 hours with sim time only, I’m sure the rest of us will feel your pain as you are outsourced.

:stupid:

 Yes we thought it thru. But with a 40% cut what is there to think about. I know u boys will stick around for whatever doug and andy hand out but for most of us it was not worth the effort. You are much like the iam u maybe in a union but u are are not union! You are scab!

Well WD, I can only hope you don't get to "think it through" when your smugly streaking across the sky in your scab maintained-chinese overhauled "whale" when something suddenly goes arwy at fl350. I'm sure your one of the arrogant pilots who had their head down as they passed us by across the picket line. The "mistake" as you state would have been to bend over like ALPO does at every turn for its masters. Its no wonder afl-cio unions are in the state they are in; Never fight....always cower. Big business loves its company unions and the minions who will always say "Yes, my master"...

Exactly right, Robbed. NWA can't even hire scabs because there are still lots of FA's out on furlought. The company hasn't bagun recalling the furloughees, as far as I know. They can only begin recruiting efforts once each and every flight attendant is recalled.

NWA is screwed. The compass is pointed squarely up Dougie's butt!

The pilots that walked past em on the picket line either had their heads up or just look at me like I was invisible. In all the days of picketing I thin one came up to talk with us. These were DC9 and A320 pilots. I can imagine the arrogance of the whale drivers.
Thats right WhaleDriver...I'm on the outside now...but its better for me to rule my destiny on the outside than to serve Satan (Dougie) on the inside. (sorry for the weak Milton adaptation guys)

Could not have said it any better. I also am on the
outside (voluntarily) and I am making less but now in
control of my own destiny. No raises for 3 years finally
convinced me to get on with my life. In the long run
I will be much better off. Once I realized that, it was an
easy decision.

Don, I'd say the same for me. I had about 12-14 over the last year stop and chat at the emp lot entrance. 9 & 320 drivers. These were guys I knew by face before the strike and were decent fellows to work with to get the plane out. They were not happy at what scabair mgt did to us and at their own MEC. I did my last 2 years working the whales & princess, don't know if I could ever remember any faces, much less names.
