This goes along with the "Girl Scouts Stranded" story but I will post it anyway.

My wife works for a professional minor league sports team and they are in the middle of the playoffs.They just finished their 3 games at home and have to return to Texas for the final games. Since it is a long distance, the traditional bus ride is not fesible.I have constantly talked up USAirways with the people in her office and tried to convince them to give LCC a try.

With that in mind they made reservations for about 35 people to fly out monday so they would be in Texas ready for the playoff game.

When she called today to confirm the trip, LCC says they've lost the reservation. They also added they couldn't re-accomodate them and get them to their destination.

So now the team is scrambling to get a charter and hoping it won't be too expensive.

I've tried in the past to convince friends and acquaintances to use LCC but now that my credibility has slipped to zero, NO MORE!

That had to be at least $30,000 in one shot go out the door.

PLEASE for all of who fly please contact the media like Yesterday!!

This airline has to be held accountable for it's abuse of customers. What were the city pairs?

I can't remember the exact city, Houston or Dallas maybe? Anyway a few years ago we (HP) actually cancelled a flight and stranded passengers only to use the aircraft for a charter. The aircraft for the cancelled flight was then used to transport a professional baseball team. Can't remember which team, but the media was all over it. Talk about embarrassing. If I remember correctly the aircraft had actually been completely boarded and was ready to go and THEN they pulled the fast one. Part of me wants to say it even took off before it was brought back and cancelled, but I can't remember for sure. It was UGLY. All the passengers knew because HP didn't wait to "re-use" the aircraft. :down:

Yep, it's the HP way...pissing off the world one passenger at a time. Looks like that may be the mantra for the NEW USAirways.

DFW Air turn back, 1999. The height of the Franke gang, but that was a different era. That would not be done in todays ops.

Just curious for some more info on the "lost" reservation. Was it booked and just canx? Was it ticketed or not ticketed within the time limit and canx? Was it made before the computer cutover March 4th? I'd be curious as to a more detailed description of how its been "lost" since that can mean so many different things. Not doubting you at all, but just curious as to more specifics of what actually happened to the reservation? Do they have ticket numbers with flight info? If so and you're holding reservations on the etkts, then they have to protect you on the flights or find other flights for you. If it wasnt ticketed, was it made directly thru US or thru an agency? Was there a schedule change and the protection canx? Please do tell as best as possible. Thanks.

I completely doubt the story. It just wouldn't happen. US may have some problems, but this just isn't true.
 
Actually Marco from what I've been able to verify so far it DID happend.

Let's wait and see, shall we?

I've passed on all of the information everyone sent to me. As I have said, the team is just interested in getting through the playoffs at this time they've been able to get to Texas on the competition.

It's up to them now if the wish to pursue it further..

Looks like some folks jumped the gun on this one. Any comments from the folks that used there jump to conclusions mat, nah...... (sound of crickets chirping)
