I just got mine. I've noticed that they are just random numbers and you won't be able to tell which ones are flight attendants, pilots , junior or senior etc. unless you look at their seniority position in the pairing.

They are not that random. My office mates all start with the same two digits as my new one. There is a system and I am sure we will figure it out in time.

Think this applies to hp employee only ( as far as finding on hub). Could be wrong.

Who cares what the employee number is. Just so you can know your senior to someone.....Big Deal!

Not to sound heartless, but what degree of attachment do furloughed people have to the airline? Is it solely because of seniority? If this was another non-seniority based industry, would the term laid-off or some more permanent term for separation from the company be appropriate? Furloughed, while it implies some intent to recall in the future, doesn't guarantee it, correct? There are no furloughee benefits are there? So until a reconnection with the company is imminent through recall, are furloughees expected to remain in contact?

Got mine it sucks, 6 digits all different, has no meaning I am employe 260,000 and something. I probably will be spat upon do to the obvious low seniority of such a number!

The numbers definitely have nothing to do with seniority. I'm guessing everybody's will start with a 2 (that covers 100,000 people after all). I've been with the comany 3 years .my number is 200xxx; a 20-year employee has 27xxxx; and a very new employee has 21xxxx . .it's definitley random.

I'm sure the company didn't set up some sort of "system"-it's probably a lot easier for IT to set up a program that assigns the numbers randomly rather than according to a "system".

Will new Spouse travel cards also be issued?

Since our OLD employees are on those..I would imagine we;ll get new ones.

I think there is a system of somesort. Every HP FA that I have talked to that knows their new number, has a number that starts with a 2. I pulled my number off of Compass and sure enough it's 2xxxxx.

Maybe they are random within your workgroup. The first digit might identify your work group.

In the beginning HP badge/employee numbers were alpha-numeric by work groups . Pilots=Pxxx Reservations=Rxxx Maint.=Txxx Flight Attendant (cross utilized)=Cxxx, Admin.=A and so on.

Nope...I'm pax service and I start with a 2, my husband is a mechanic with less seniority and he has a lower 2 number than I do. It's a random thing.
