Hey Galen Munroe; of course the statements are surprising and utterly rediculous, they are also true. The teamsters are always doing "behind close door deals". And the teamsters are bottom feeders. They will tell you guys anything to get you to sign a card for them. What ever you US guys do, I would remain IAM if I were you. The teamsters are the lwest form of representation out there. Be patient, after AMFA wins the election at AA, you guys too will be AMFA when the merger is complete. Won't be much longer and you will hear the announcement for the filing to the NMB. Stay tuned...

They'll also DO anything to get you to sign a card. Including bothering you until you sign just to get them to go away. Doesn't mean you'll vote for them though.
But according to some here, the IBT says they have the numbers to force a vote from their raid.
Three unions are now vying for my attention. For once in my life I feel wanted.
It does kind of give you that warm and fuzzy feeling that someone actually wants you !! Would love to finally have a union who represents its members rather than one who rolls over at management command and does little but collect dues money!!

You should have the tenacity to say "NO Don't come back!".
That's what I did at UA and they never bothered me again.
Too bad most M&R voted in the IBT based on the lies they told.
You do know the SFO M&R are split into two locals?
One in SFO and one in LAX.
Really, how can a person in SFO attend their local meeting in LAX?

If you are a US Airways M&R employee why on God's green earth would you sign an IBT card? You would be risking your retirement and your family's future financial well being.
The IBT lies and will tell you anything to persuade you to sign a card. What is the IBT plan for retirement security at US Airways? Most likely the IBT is spewing the same misinformation that it did to the UAL MX. The IBT told the UAL MX that it would get their pensions back from the PBGC. The IBT told the UAL MX it would open their existing bankruptcy agreement before the amendable date. The IBT told the UAL MX it would negotiate the Western Conference of Teamsters horrible pension and that will not happen either because UAL will not throw money down a black hole.
Not sure why any thinking person would even consider the IBT. Big, huge risk.
