The word on the street is John Prestophilipo resigned today. Any confirmation?

Not a loss in any way.

He was worthless  , nothing improved with him, although he did get a buddy of his a manager job at the heavy maintenance hangar in clt while we were in our second BK, and there were no manager openings. What a JOKE. The guys nickname is clueless lou as he came from continental express and never seen a jet in his life. A perfect fit for most of usair maint. mgmt.

I hope Spirit would not of had the balls to hire the clowns from US Air!
I hate to see another one down the drain!

C'mon Robbed. You've been around the
industry long enough to know that it is all
a game of musical chairs. The clowns
that hold VP and above positions at each
carrier almost always leave and re-surface
somewhere else, and they usually follow
their buddies. After all, they have to
keep pillaging to ensure the money keeps
rolling in.

Mr. Parker has served at Northwest,
American, America West, and now at
US Airways. Each time he moved, he
brought his buddies with him. It's the
way the game is played on that level.

Mr. Wolf had a reputation (some say
a bad one at that) of moving from
airline to airline, cleaning up the balance
sheet and then selling to anyone who
could pay him to leave. The playbook
has not changed from decade to
decade, as evidenced by the cycles
that have existed for years.

If so, he stayed just long enough to get his 150,000 shares of LCC stock. It was awarded on 9/27/05.

So if he sold his stock at 20 dollars a share he got what 3 Million?

What do you think the odds he dumped the stock before it goes down anymore?

Presti was/is a jerk all he wanted to do was outsource everything so he did not have to run a maintenance department and get paid.

Silly me, I thought retention bonuses were supposed to retain people.

Then again, this is the company that let Baldanza and Biffle just walk right over to Spirit with our plans for FLL. You think they might have heard of a non-compete clause, you know, like every other airline has for its execs.

Maybe the problem's just that the retention bonuses aren't large enough. That must be it.

Why did he not want to get paid?

Let me re-phrase that for 700UW.....

All he wanted was to get paid and outsource everything ......

Thanks Jim,

Late night yesterday, worked till 11 and then went to my son's cub scout overnight camp out.

Yippy John Presto is gone.

A good start. Now if we could only get rid of his henchmen too, there could be a massive improvement in the maintenance dept!

There is alot of truth in what Spin says, but not all VPs are so called "clowns". We all know that the old AWA management comprises the majority of the new management team. In a merger as large and complex as ours you just can't "clean house" immediately. Some amount of knowledge of the East operations had to be brought into this merger.

It's only natural to bring folks in who you have confidence in that can do the job.
Other reasons such as operational knowledge as pointed out above are appropriate. Recently we had a big meeting for all the folks in the Phx maintenance hanger and it was explained that the current management organizational chart is fluid. Meaning there are more changes in the organizational structure to come. As we move deeper into the merger expect people to move around or even move out. So you see, it's not a big conspiracy to make sure Billy Bob and Mary Jane have jobs or don't have jobs. It's about getting the job done. 😉
