There Will Be An Election

[Decision 2004]

Look for the NBM Investigator Hennessey to grant the American Airlines Mechanic and Related Craft or Class a representational election on or before June 12th, 2004.

Final statements regarding protest of the original eligibility list will be due early next week.

The attempt by AA Management and the TWU Leadership to inflate the list has failed, and for the first time since the 1940's the workers will decide who should be the bargaining agent for the Mechanic and Related at AA.

Good luck, and thanks to everyone for years of hard work and sacrifice to make this a reality.

Because they know they can't win, they have people running around Tulsa asking how would they vote when it comes to an election between AMFA and twu. The twu is running scared and I believe it is illegal to run such serveys on company time. Anyhow it does not matter, just shows proof that the twu is really scared.

I have NEVER said that I fear an election. I have stated that there won't be an election. TWO DIFFERENT THINGS!!!! You guys are sooooo good at putting words into people mouths!!

Amfa has chosen an unconventional (illegal at times) way to "play this game". There are some of us that know more than you think we do regarding these lists and what is going on at the NMB but choose not to indulge the way Dave does. What we know we keep to ourselves. Now what that might be is left to the imagination!! Is it significant. . . maybe, is it damning. . .maybe, is it worth nothing. . .maybe, is it hot air. . .maybe. I simply stated to Dave that this is not over yet and I believe that he is jumping the gun a bit.

I have spoken to far too many folks to be afraid of a vote NH/BB.



So, tell me, in all seriousness, looking at amfa's track record, what do you think amfa will do for you? For the profession. And don't give me any of that accountability crap. That tells me NOTHING!!! I want some straight, proven answers (something you guys can't seem to give). What will amfa do for the AMT???? What have they done for the AMT, for the "profession"???? If you do resond, try not to answer a question with another question. I don't like that game!!!

Boy, you have a lot of nerve talking about illegal behavior Thrustful!!!!! I would guess amfa's illegal behavior was a sign of desparation, wouldn't you. I mean using an illegally obtained list to attempt to increase amfa's card count. How desparate is that????? Looks like that one might come back to bite you in the butt!!!!

It boggles the mind why anyone would want to be a part of an association that has caused more (irreversible) damage and devastation to the industry than is comprehensible. . . .and they have managed to get this accomplished in a very short amount of time!!! Thanks but no thanks!!!

If you guys don't fear an election why did you include all those deceased and retired employees as a method to increase the head count which would lower AMFA's percentage? If you don't fear an election you should have told all your members to sign cards and get it over with.
So to answer your question "what will AMFA do for you" The answer is for FSC's NOTHING. Maybe you should become familiar with which group of employees is retired and which group is not maintenance and related. Oh I forgot you guys seem to have that problem even with the list you provided the NMB!

twuer, AMFA will represent the AMT, unlike the TWU or the IAM that are catch-all unions where their members outnumber the AMT's. We want a union that is run by mechanics for one thing. How can a union that is run by a ex-bus driver even relate to what a mechanic does?

7915, AMFA will do for you the same as they will for mechanics. They will represent you with a skill level not seen by the catch-all unions. I want someone that knows what I'm doing and can relate to my profession. I want a lawyer to review the contracts the company proposes to us. I don't want to be out numbered by lower classifications-unskilled-one-day-of-training-for-a-career employee. And please, don't give me the song and dance, "the price of bread is the same for mechanics as lower classifications".

Okay, my mistake. NH/BB will not be directly affected by amfa, so tell me, why do you think he chimes in every once and a while? He has to know a little of what is going on. Don't you think he should be aware of what it is he is trying to sell when he preaches amfa?? Shouldn't you for that matter Ray, or you Flyguy???? I have been on this board for almost a year now and have yet to see any proof that amfa has done anything beneficial for the AMT. Heck, they don't even want anything to do with everyone who falls under the craft and class. Amfa is a stand alone union with no power to do anything. That has been proven in the past year. They are hurting this industry, that too has been proven!!

And your question Ray about the list with all the deceased etc. That was the list the company compiled, and a poor one at that. They obviously don't make that a top priority. We made corrections as needed. It is not a fail-proof system. Are you willing to say that amfa has done everything by the book?? If you do you will be lying. Amfa intentionally deceived and continues to deceive by denying any wrong doing!!!! They don't even want those who the NMB has classified as craft and class on the list. How crappy is that?? If at the end of all of this mess if the NMB determines there should be a vote then so be it, I just don't think it will happen. That has been my stance from the get-go. Sorry that you don't like it, but I'm not here to make you happy!!!

Let's see here. AMFA has refused to give concessions keeping wages up for AMT's. The TWU gave away the farm,tractor,plow,and haybailer without even a wimper. :down: The EVIL TWU has been dragging the AMT's down for over 20 years!

What they will do can not be any worse than what the inept useless twu has all ready done.
The hardest thing for the AMFA to do is get back some of the concessions the useless twu gave away. Thanks to brain dead twu members like yourself who rolled over in order to save a sinking ship. I hate to break it to you but the ship is still sinking.
I will not take another screw job from the twu. It is time to give someone else a shot. The days of twu concessions are over.
The industrial union and its thinking must go. Grow a pair and stand up for your profession because the twu wont and never has.
