Who would have imagined. No one to blame except:

Ed Colodny

Randall Malin

Butch Schofield

Steven Wolf & Rakesh Gangwal

Dave Siegel

The die was cast when USAir cut and ran from the West Coast in 1991. It just took 14 years for Southwest to grow from 60 B737's to more than 400. In the meantime, USAir/ways went from 450 to aruably, 279 and falling..falling...FAILING.

Interesting that SWA was modeled after PSA way back in 1971. You can't argue or compete with that kind of success. See you at the "Wings-Suds and Spuds", Southwest crews, get the wings Hot and Extra Crispy!

First flight took off early this morning without any problems.
Flight was full.

Southwest's arrival in PIT will not have the effect it once had. Furthermore, do not be surprised if PIT is further downsized and consolidated with the November schedule change after the summer travel season and assets moved westward.

Ok, I'll bite.... westward to where? Taking over in DEN for UA?

Beefing up HP's PHX hub? If US/HP do any of your corporate transacting, the new carrier needs to lose some planes, not move them around.

Oh wait, I know. Westward towards Asia. Airlines over there would actually use the planes to make money.

Me thinks the desert is west of PIT 🙁

Well, no since U has already savaged the PIT hub all by their lonesome, they won't have to cut back as much when SWA scoops up the majority of the traffic. But, I'm sure the November redeployment of assets from PIT won't have anything to do with SWA's entry into the PIT market. None whatsoever. Yeah, that's the ticket. SWA's actions are of no interest or concern to us, the boy said as he whistled his way through the dark forest.

(Hey, I'm scared that SWA will succeed in getting the Wright Amendment repealed which will hurt us big time at DFW. My point is that no one can discount or ignore SWA's entry into any market.)

Move what? Where? Huh? "Westward?"

How's the old saying go? "If you can't run with the big dogs, then you better stay on the porch."

IMO if US goes out west, again, SWA will drive them straight to the pacific.

Also, me thinks US should get into defensive posture and defend to the death their eastern front.

I'm glad that most of the WN employees have a lot more class than you do. It's the 1% Factor. 1% of the world's population are jerks. I guess you know where you fall in the equation.

Every Dog has it's day. Just wait.
