What's new

Things you think will happen in BK court

Overhaul AND line maintenance, cabin, fleet service all outsourced--current employees guaranteed only an offer of job with outsourcers

I disagree with this one... AA couldve spun off or contracted out OH at any time...
As for line maintenance....look at the industry trend...Just about every low cost carrier that exists have their own line maintenance mechanics and NO overhaul...As for every other carrier that reorganized under CH 11 either shed or greatly reduced their OH numbers and KEPT their own line maintnenace mechanics...
I believe AA wants to keep OH but under a separate entity.....
Same goes for fleet service.....AA will undoubtedly eliminate cabin service...but not necessarily the rest of fleet service.

Bankruptcy doesn't necessarily mean that the company takes fleet's TA off the table. When is the vote?... 😉

Fleet Service will likely stay in the hubs. Line stations will likely be toast by virtue of scope being gutted.

Get ready for a whole new world of sick/vacation/OIL rules. Maybe medical as well.

I'd echo what others have said about OH either being spun off, or outsourced entirely.

As noted earlier, I guess it's AA's turn in the barrel. Good luck to you all. Having been there, I can say it'll be a wild ride.

Re. "I believe AA wants to keep OH but under a separate entity....."

- I think so too. That way they would have control over the OH base while paying wages competitive with TIMCO and AAR etc.

However, it is now all up to the BR judge / court - and guess who else? BANKSTERS who may want to take the $4.1 Billion immediately.

Methinks AMR already has the BK plan in hand and will present it to the judge when it is requested.

They know exactly what they want and need.

Hey, Maybe I'll wear my AMP shirt today. IDIOTS!!!!!

Geee, let's go ask Bob Owens what we should do. You think they'll retain OH? You're dreaming again.. Wake up and smell the coffee, its a bad brew.

Somehow, I see a lack of postings by Bob Owens and the rest of the AMP idiots.

Here is what could happen, because it has happened to me:

1. Pension to PBGC (Very likely. You should have bolted while you could.)
2. Pay cuts.
3. Vacation cuts.
4. Duty rigs--nearly non-existent.
5. Sick leave cut.
6. You pay for things that you are not now, i.e., long term disability in my case.
7. Training changes for the worst.
8. Everything will be for the worst. (You should have left while you could.)
9. Aircraft leases terminated, i.e., MD-80s and massive furloughs. You have no contracts to speak of now, the judge decides your fate.
10. You have just lost control. A judge is your CEO now. You don't think someone else can buy you? What is your stock at? Who is going to provide your D.I.P. financing? Your company is very much in play now. Good luck. It sucks, I know, been there done it.

11 .Don't forget retirees medical at risk at being eliminated and shifted to a COBRA program.
12. Vendors not performing duties in fear of not getting paid.
13. Outstanding worker comp cases and other compensation payouts getting voided by the BK judge.

its off the table

where all the fucks that want to talk about usair getting us?

this is what a lot of you guys wanted gl

you guys better go to jetnet, alot of q&a info on there . Facts not the spewd B.S.

Well, they got their BK. I hope they are happy. Mechanics as a whole are a rather ignorant lot. Wishing to step on their own *body parts* at every turn. All you no voters that have been listening to the vote no leaders, and their not going to file leaders, and they wont contract out OH leaders. Get ready, here come's the proverbial crap storm. Everything Owens said that wouldn't happen has, is that delusion or stupidity? Good luck fellas, you think things are difficult now? It's gonna get worse. Protect the safety of the flying public and keep your cert intact.

One cannot worry about things you can't control and the companys direction is under no control from me.

The real questions can't be answered until you go through the process. Most want to know if they are going to get screwed, and the answer is - YES!

TWU T shirts coming out soon. Oh boy. Make mine size medium so the street bum I give it to will feel loved. 😛

Great forward thinking by the no voters, you cost us all $9k in cash alone. Working weekends is going to be the least of TUL's worries.

I'm looking forward to hearing from Bob how we are negotiating from a upper hand position.
