Things you think will happen in BK court

Just like a lot of you guys did for the last year, "shooting from the hip". It's obvious that many of you guys have no clue how BK works. 99% of what has been posted here is inaccurate. These boards are great entertainment though!

I'm Fleet so I don't know or care where Bob and AMP are.

Do a little homework if you truly are interested. I don't have the time to argue with you or anyone else. 🙄

Bankruptcy doesn't necessarily mean that the company takes fleet's TA off the table. When is the vote?... 😉

The TA is off the table----
What happens to American's TWU Fleet Service and Dispatch tentative agreements?
In light of the changed circumstances resulting from the Chapter 11 filing, American will not proceed with finalizing the tentative agreements with the TWU Fleet Service Clerk & Ground Services and Dispatchers workgroups. We are committed to negotiating new cost-effective agreements with the TWU.

[scenario one] Bought by USAIRWAYS, the name AA kept, the livery changed, scope gone, pensions gone, pay slashed, routes downsized, HQ in DFW,

Airways went through chapter 22,meaning chapter 11 twice within a short period of time.I cannot in any way see airways running a successful merged operation. They still have not fully digested the US,AWA merger.

[scenario two] liquidated and the pieces purchased by the remaining carriers.

and I thought the new t/a was suppose to be cost effective for fleet . we are doomed

As Horton hinted in his remarks to the DMN, good bye pension and retiree medical for all. Those were still in the T/A.
Some jobs will be lost, how many, anybody's guess. Workrules will be a big item, and as for my hourly wage being cut,
I wish I knew how much and when.

The only thing you can do at this point is try to fight to keep all you can. It is going to be rough. It is going to be ugly.
We are all in this industry together.

IF a merger with US Airways is in your future.. so be it. Don't start a battle with the employees of US Airways. We are not the enemy. We are as much a victim of this sort as any of you are..

IF a merger with US Airways is going to happen, let's not make the mistakes that were made with the AWA/US merger.

IF a merger with US Airways is going to happen, let it combine to make the best damn airline in this industry!!

IF a merger with US Airways happens, you nor I have a choice.

Hang in there...

your joking right? make it the best damm airline . News flash thats what we did for AMR in 2003!!!!!!!

Now that AA has filed, let's hear some specifics as to what will happen...
Here are my thoughts.

1...Pensions frozen
2... Pilot scope history
3... Overhaul spun off.

You are a big and good airline. You WILL survive. Just don't give all your flying to the regionals. Or they will own your future growth when you rebound, and you will rebound. Don't give as much as the eastern div of usair. Get the best contract attorneys you can buy, and have ironclad language that enables you to dig out when the storm blows over. It will blow over. If you give money, don't sacrifice your time with your family, and keep as much vacation as possible so you can get away from it all. Good luck.

No, I am not joking! If you don't want to try and make the best out of a potenially bad situation that is up to you. It is people like you that I guess I was referring too. Now, I know why I don't come on here anymore. So, much attitude... I will come on again when you ARE part of the US family... take care

Please stop fantasizing about another merger. You would think all your fingers would be numb from all the posts about the impending US United or Delta or NWA and now AMR. Spare us all the "US family"crap, no one deserves to part of that dysfunctional nightmare. It seems as though every thread is about a merger or the latest pilot pissing contest.

It's apparent the majority of you dont understand the Section 1113 process of bankruptcy.

The union and the company by law have to meet to negotiate, the Judge doesnt negotiate nor does he sit in on the process. He only rules on the motions in front of him. His primary responsibility is to the creditors and the company and to ensure the POR makes the company survive.

The process is outlined in the law, and if the there is no new CBA agreed to, the judge can order an abrogation and an imposition of the final offer, or order the parties to negotiate more.

I was on the NC at US for M&R and its not a pretty process and we got screwed when our CBA was abrogated and the judge had us vote on the final offer as he wanted labor peace. Subsequent rulings from the courts have outlawed the unions from striking upon an abrogation.
