To ‘shot gun’ something is a replacement of a part using the WAG theory.
Duct tape is a repair which in some cases may legal (Typically in the cabin). You are probably inferring to ‘speed tape’ which has chemical adhesive properties (depending on the application) that make it a viable temporary repair to the skin.

I only say this to clarify if this 'time wasting effort' will be factual, or not.
Just taking further 'shots' without reason, is even worse than the reality.

i thought it was meant to be non factual and random, but i'm totally cool with speed tape.
