What's new

ticket stock 401

THE 26 new classes of service * have noting to do with 401 TICKET STOCK. Each Airline gets a 3 digit code, HP was 401 and US AIRWAYS is 037, LUCKY AA has 001....Not that it matters, THE NEW WEBSITE is the OLD HP website renamed this is now www.usairways.com/awa. Shares which is the HP reservation system is going to be the surviving system most of us in the PREFERRED DEPT are able to use both systems we just toggle back and forth, problem is when someone calls about their reservation, it is Q&A to find out what system they are booked on. Getting pretty easy since most of HP bookings and web booking normally have a NUMBER in the RECORD LOCATOR.

*= the 26 new booking codes are suppose to be so that HP and US AIRWAYS can be compatable with STAR ALLIANCE !!!!

excop is right: the 401 stock is due to usairways.com being americawest.com in sheep's clothing. Development was told it wouldn't work, but they didn't care to listen. Following integration 037 will be the stock. Couldn't tell you why they just didn't program it that way from the get-go.

The fare class realignment has absolutely nothing to do with it. Today HP has a Q class, and US has a Q class (in fact, there are several duplicates). However, the 2 are not equal causing confusion in fares, and making exchanges from 401 to 037 virtually impossible (partly because of a limitation Sabre put in their system). The new fare classes will match across both carriers, and the Star Alliance.

037 in the future was my understanding as well, and 401 is just temporary since the US site is a mirror of the old HP site, which issued tickets on 401. Paperless/electronic tickets still get a ticket number, and the first 3 numbers are for the issuing/plating carrier.

I assume that is why when I got 2 award tickets online, the charge to my credit card was America West. Last week I took the first of the 2 award trips and went to do OLCI and it wouldn't work. Had to call to get the "US" record number to complete the check in.

Our guess is because US East is going to be using HP computer system and soon 037 stock will be obsolete. Think about it. Who saved who??????
Can we just stop this who saved who crap-ola and just move on?

Oh, and the reason it was done this way without thought is because it doesnt affect the daily worklife of those who made the decision.
That's the HP way. Someone in a cubicle in Tempe will screw you over because they don't understand your job.

HP, THE AIRLINE THAT DOES THINGS BACKWARDS

Who cares if it is 401 or 037? In the grand scheme of things does it really matter??? As a flight attendant, (who spent 10 years working gates, ticket counter, and ops as an agent, supervisor and trainer), I have so many more important concerns with this merger than the numbers on the ticket stock. How about the number of $$$ on my paycheck that haven't changed for awhile or the increasing number of $$$ deducted from my check for health insurance...or maybe the fact that DP thinks I only need 4 weeks of vacation after 17 years instead of the nearly 5 I currently have, or the crappy, dirty and unsafe crew hotels management continues to move us to without Union approval???

Sorry, but at this point ticket stock numbers aren't even on the bottom of my list of things that are important.

Reread the original post. I dont think the person really cares which number is being used, just the fact that with the "US" website selling tickets on "401 stock", there are a lot of problems it causes for the customers and agents regarding reissues, refunds and taking care of business in our normal ops, especially since MOST of the old East stations dont have access to a QIK computer and Sabre and Shares arent always talking to each other, AND if someone calls rez and gets PHX, it gets booked in Shares and then a Sabre computer user gets them to ticket, its a mess.
Just be glad (for all of you who dont care, it doesnt affect), that it DOESNT affect you, because for those of us it does, its a pain. Agents and customers alike!)

Can anyone in the know here tell us why
US is selling tkt=s on the website using
"401 and not "037".

Do you the problems you are causing?
No you don't I thought so...

Tad, you are not the only one dealing with this situation and I could not agree more with you. Its a mess. Both airlines should have stayed seperate until these IT issues were resolved. It may not affect some of you and like Tad said be very grateful. Dealing with these issues all day long and very upset customers caught in the middle and being unable to handle a simple issue is frustrating and at times stressful. Its been part of the reason why Manilla is still around, not too many people want to deal with it, especially for the pay.

AMEN! And for those who think DP walks on water and believe everything he says, he himself said the merger saved both airlines. For the record, HP did NOT have the cash to buy anyone, the investors financed the deal.

Hey Sweetie--you know me--just stiring up the pot.
Now for tad--had one tonight where the tkt counter exchanged a ticket which was an invol reroute. They only exchanged the first half of the tkt and the 2nd half was left hanging in air without an exchange. You can imagine the mess when HA called and asked for the nonexistant tkt no. They had exchanged only the outbound for full tkt. It was a mess to fix in 401 ticket stock so the pax could board their plane. You are sooooo very right. This never should have happened this way. We never should have started selling other airline flights until the computer system was merged and all the kinks ironed out. Neither should the web site have been merged--there are a lot of things that used to be in the HP web site that are no where to be found now.

You undoubtedly have not work in customer service for a while. Things have change with the intermixes of e-tickets and online bookings outsourcing kiosk and code sharing

That's what I keep telling them, but I continue to get the Bambi in Headlights look. A completley emotional responce to the whole issue, not attempted to think about anything.

FLYGIRL, don't be so MYOPIC. Each workgroup is experiencing problems because of poor planning involved in the MERGER. In the long run, the ticketing problems they were discussing do cause problems for you as a flight attendant. In the long run after the CSA's have struggled to fix a problem the passenger/customer experienced, you end up with a ticked off passenger you have difficulty working with. I know you have pride in working for AWA, so think of how agrivating you find it when a passenger starts loudly griping at how lousy they think your airline is.

All of us can only do so much when the tools we are given are lacking or completley non existant.

Again FLYGIRL, stop being so MYOPIC, look around you.

In no way was I trying to be myopic. I was not trying to minimize any workgroup's problems/adjustments to the affects of this merger. Every workgroup has been affected in a big way when it comes to doing their job, especially when "east" employees are dealing with "west" customers and vice versa. It doesn't matter if you are trying to reticket them or trying to give them comparable inflight service or what. We all have had, and continue to have, major challenges.
The pay issues, vacation issues, health coverage issues, scheduling issues...they affect ALL of us, not just the flight crews. I'm sorry if I came across as only being concerned with myself as a flight attendant, as it's not the way I am at all. I have other family members who work here as well, in other departments, and I am very aware of the challenges they face. But talking with them, and other friends....both flight crew and non-flight crew....our concerns seem to be very similar.
