What's new

Too little too late?

Until it changes to "Cactus," US Airways does indeed identify itself as USAir several thousand times each day--the callsign.

The company does it regularly. If you want to rip the reporter, you are going to have to do better than this.
Oh Dear God, just when you think it couldn't get any worse. Not only the laughing stock of the US, but now the laughing stock of Europe. London, this is Cactus 91 requesting clearance..just shoot me now.

You have no idea what a laughing stock the US is to the rest of the globe. Cactus means "receptable for piss" in some parts of the world, but then, who in Tempe has any idea what life is?

With all due respect, on the United States East Coast, Usairways means the same thing and it is not the employees fault. Management and BOD are trying to hit the home run for a merger to line their pockets, not playing the small ball necessary to run a good airline.

I agree, but, until the employee groups to have a "die" attitude, then the board might actually change something.

As long as they think peons (from CLT) will work for less, we all will work for less. I say, close CLT. Put the pinch on the morons and see them squeal like the pigs they are.

Then we will see some movement.

Kind of interesting statements, in one thread you blame the employees, in another you dont...

Look how I made the quote above look, it looks like you said what Nark did
ld3, great graphics, but you have to use quotation marks on a quote and use their name above the quote. If you do not I may be confused with someone who has a good idea. In other words my box

NOSTRADAMUS

"Yor mama."

Next quote

JOE

"My mama"

ED

"That is enough guys, or else"

NOSTRADAMUS

"Sorry Ed"

Nostadamus says

"For example in your posting above you make it look like I was quoted as posting both the same quotes as above, while in acuality, I made the first, Nark made the second and you made the third post."

What is a "die" attitude. Explain please. I am not being confrontational, just asking.

LD3, you made a mistake and misquoted me, an apology is the norm when someone is misquoted.

I will try again;

With all due respect, on the United States East Coast, Usairways means the same thing and it is not the employees fault. Management and BOD are trying to hit the home run for a merger to line their pockets, not playing the small ball necessary to run a good airline.

If you were in PHL it was probably me. Always say USAir. It does bring back memories of happier times, and pax do like it!
I remember the day Wolf introduced the new name. I told him to his face==oh so now people will think we're US Trailways!!! I liked USAir better and many many of us still call it that. Heck one day I thanked someone for foying Piedmont.

Nastradamus.....

You are correct, I did not catch that mistake until you pointed it out.....I am truly sorry....Sorry for the confusion...

Have heard many reasons (or excuses) for the name change.

1. Wolf had always had an ongoing battle with BA and
changed it to stick it to them when we had the alliance, that seems pretty weak to me though.

2. Because of the 5 crashes we had, again weak.

3. In Europe, they were calling us OOSS-Air, this is a United States based airline, learn to say it, again weak.

4. To give the airline a more global sound. (possible, but the name still sucks.)

They really did pay someone a million dollars to come up with a name change, and that is what they came up with!
Just leave the name alone, people have very short memories.
