Probably because the production facilities in Claverton, NY no longer exist and the skilled workforce that built the aircraft is no longer there.  Which means it would be very expensive to bring it back.

Not bring back but cancel the program?

Program was cancelled back in 92 and was not brought back.

Having worked on the A model, yes it was.  However that was one of the reasons behind the D model.  Reduced maintenance with newer model engines and completely revamped avionics package.

A little naval aviation history.  The pilot of the C-130 was James H. Flatley III.  He's the son of James H. Flatley a legendary navy fighter pilot from WW II.

Nice vid's, thanks for sharing. Must be fun.

I read a story of a pilot sweating and visibly shaken from continued missed approaches on a carrier........a carrier simulator......wow.

Watching RAG squadrons doing CQ's was always fun.  Especially the F-18's.  To get through the mil power detent to burner the F-18 has finger lifts.  The nugget pilots would get a death grip on the throttle and unknowingly pull up on the lifts.  So when they caught the wire instead of going to mil they would go to full burner.  Rather impressive show.
