Toxic work enviroment

LD3;
While it's true that this started out as a "woa is me, I'm so depressed..."

Catusboy53...

I cant say I understand what both pilot groups are going through, I am sure it's not pleasant for either of them, but I know what Harry does in his group and I know what Tempe has done to these people with their scheduling crap. I know what Tempe has done to the ramp workers with their scheduling snafu. But there are already a sh!t load of threads about the pilots, all I am saying is let the other groups express fustration about their safety and work load and not turn this in to a pilot only thread...Whether he is a east pilot supporter or not, let him vent, maybe some others in fleet will speak out as long as this doesn't turn into a anti USAPA thread...Now I got to go to another thread, I heard something funny on the tower radio tonight with the GIG flight....

peace out...

Ever since I took responsibility of my own morale things have been great.

By understanding I have no control over 99.99% of what happens in this airline I just do what I can to keep the bags with the custopax and the flights out on time, safely. I actually enjoy the work environment a lot, it's some of the people that are toxic. I'm not going to wait for some management miracle or settlement of the pilot dispute to let me know when I can start having motivation and enjoyment (and pride) in what I do. Life's too short.

Good Post!

Working in what's been called a "Toxic" environment is a lot like having a relapsed heroin addict for a lover. Unfortunately I been in both situations and you have to let go.

Like dealing with an addict you have to realize it's not your fault and you didn't do a blessed thing wrong. Live with an addict and your drama quotient expands in ways you never imagined as the disease will do anything to protect itself. Once you get your arms wrapped around this life gets instantly easier when you can say "Your addictions are yours, NOT mine".

I think the same can be said for a toxic work environment in that we in effect become addicted to the drama, whether it be in the union, our work area, our co-workers, leaders etc etc. It's almost like a 12 step program to free yourself from that drama.

I'm happy for you that we saw this and stepped away from the drama of a toxic work environment but it's kinda like a 12 step program in that it's one day at a time. So did you get your "30 Day Chip" yet 😀
