How about TPA for a topic, must be some of the ex Trans Provinvial Airlines boys around.

Wasn''t thinking of the Bristow Freighter operation but the original TPA out of Seal Cove.

A bud told me some day he would give me the scoop on Gene Story''s rise and fall but perhaps someone here has their own spin on another company getting to big then crashing.

Actually I started this business in Seal Cove but won''t say the year except that is was the 60''s. And a lot of people have passed through Seal Cove since then.

Ah, how well I remember trundling into Alice Arm or Stewart on the Goose or the Widgeon - weren''t them the days! Paddy McNeil was one of the good wave skimmers I remember well. Sad end in a VIH chopper up near Schaft Creek (where the DC3 used to sched).

If memory serves, wasn''t TPA''s rise to eminence due to the demise of PWA? Regardless, some good hands did great work during the years I prowled the area.

Thanks for the memories.

Paddy McNeil (The Dude) now theres a name I''ve not heard for quite a while. Last I saw him he just came from a CP Air interview and even after he heard he had a start date with them he went to finish that helicopter contract and bought the big one.

I do believe TPA took over the northern coastal stuff from PWA and might have been in the Jimmy Pattison fold for a while before Gene Story bought it.

What I''d like to hear about is the Convair operations, I think they did the Puralator before or with Flight craft and the 727 that never arrived and apparently broke them.

Someone must have info on this
