I've mentioned the Q & A between the ALPA negotiating committee and management concerning the transformation plan in a couple of threads. For those interested, I'll post the entire document if I can get the "attached file" option to work. It's a pdf file so Adobe's Acrobat Reader is required.

If anyone is interested, here are the non-confidential slides used in the presentation to the ALPA MEC on the pilot's contribution to the transformation plan. Again, it a pdf document and Adobe Acrobat Reader is required.

Interesting that supporting Express is a half-cent right there. Something's gotta be done there.

I also noted that the added cost of the Dividend Miles program and the clubs is about $10 for a round-trip transcon.

Thanks for posting the info...much to glean there.

The company asked for 90-seat scope relief during the Supplemental Restructuring Agreement and LOA 91 negotiations and the MEC and NC said "no". This is the thrid request and the company always asks for more than they expect to receive.

And they usually get it from the pilots. 😉

And if the pilot group wants to keep the place running they can give my share also. I've given enough, but I won't leave or quit until you force me into another career. Besides I still have one last NO VOTE to cast. 😉

I'll bet this plan will mean that U pilots won't be getting any more than the minimum 12 days off per month and will be sitting around a lot in airports getting that 95 hours. There's not going to be an incentive for management to schedule efficiently. And bye, bye retirement.

Lakefield smells blood in the water and he's circling ALPA.

I think this could turn interesting, and here is why:

The company is obviously urging the top end of the list to throw the bottom end of the list under the proverbial bus.

On the other hand, I suspect the top end of the list will not react favorably to the potential loss of the DC pension and a reduction to the HP 401(k).

Clue,

Your only error is equating junior with young. For example, the f/o I flew with last trip has 11 months till retirement.

Jim,
With your peer group, I realize that (alas) everything age versus experience is very relative.

That said, based on the acrimony generated from the pension loss the last go-around, I'd be very interested to see how losing the follow-on plan would go over with the group as a whole.

I like the way they mention JetBlue ordering all those EMB-190s when they ask for scope relief to 90 seats, but they fail to mention that the JB pilots will be flying them.

The slide on the transformation plan dealing with scope was a little misleading. Jet Blue will have 100-seat RJs flying, but they will all be flown by mainline Jet Blue pilots. That is they way it should be. No scope relief should be needed to fly the 90 seat jets as they should be flown at mainline.

Peace!

Dang! Got beat to the punch! 😀

ALPA will cave. After being "transformed" to a commuter pilot contract with no real retirement, they'll throw the bottom of the list under the bus so the senior guys can gut out their last few years as best they can. Lakefield is calling the tune and ALPA is dancing.
