Word out of Tulsa today is the recent vote and selection of a new Election Board (3 incumbents removed) was annulled due to several interested and potential candidates from outstations not being on the ballot. I believe the stations were Memphis, El-Paso, San Antonio, and OKC. Call me crazy, but sounds as if the results of the election did not suit the local officers. Maybe the next election will be more palatable.

Gee - what a surprise!

How the hell does this bunch intend to stand down this company in contract negotiations when it's own house is in such rampant disarray? If there is perceived election rigging here, then perhaps the positions being voted on are paying too much. Nobody likes being ousted from a fat paycheck and bottomless pit benefits.

They never have before, so why would they start now. Remember our motto: "A house in disarray is the twu way."

The participation of the first election was many times the norm which I believe blindsided the TWU insiders. The TWU having "their people" on the election board reminds me of the presidents desire to stack the Supreme Court with liberal or conserative judges. The outcome of the next election will be very interesting. I have a theory that the outstation trump card is held in reserve for just this sort of senario. Nobody I talked to has heard of this tactic before, perhaps because most election results are to their liking.

So far haven't seen anything like that happen in 513 fleet DFW. President, 2nd VP, and Place 1 E Board have all changed hands among others. As I've said to people. This should send a clear message to the Intl that we're tired and want our money back and are willing to fight for it at the local levels.

Yep - it's sending a clear message to the boys in the International we're still paying our dues to keep from disrupting their lifestyles.

I didn't bother to go to the meeting or vote at the original meeting to select the election board as I figured (and rightly so) there would be a bit of an upset without my help. There was - my goodness; we must have another election (vote 'til you get it right). Rest assured, I will be at the next "election" and I will not vote for any incumbent or one in the twu's favor.

Word was that the three who unseated the incumbents were amfa supporters - that's OK by me. There'd be a bit of check and balance in the system, you know, kinda like the d'rats and pooplicans cancelling each others skulduggery even though one is no better than the other. Net result will be either a little more honesty or gridlock, perhaps a few fights, in which case I hope Luis sells some tickets.

They can't seem to provide any representation for the membership so I might as well settle for some entertainment for the dues I'm giving these clowns every month.

I have not heard of the AMFA association with any of the three non-incumbent electee's. I know for a fact two of the three N-I's elected, Don Johnson and K. Shindi, simply want to get involved and make a difference. I've worked with Don in AO. He is very intelligent and can be trusted to do the right thing. I worked with Matt Grubb (not elected) in years past and can vouch for his integrity.

According to witnesses, turnout for the election board re-vote at the new unauthorized "we are the" union hall was better than the first election. One incumbent was heard complaining that TOO MANY WERE COMING TO VOTE (emphasis added) and not staying for the monthly union meeting. Results in about a week, or when desirable results are achieved.

Johnson and Shindi were ID'd by my shop steward as having amfa connections, but I couldn't figure why this would make any difference, that is, if there to be an honest election within the twu. If so and at worst, the election board wouldn't have the freedom to cook their results many suspect them of doing. If they're as you say, 'just wanting to make a difference', then more power to them.

Johnson and Shindi were elected (awaiting line station results) according to the Crib Notes (propagAAnda) put out yesterday. If things are as many suspect, we may have a better chance of finding out about it.

That's kind of funny, I wonder what your shop steward say about any election on the line than, because we're all AMFA connected here? 🙄 In fact Donny V. and Bobby Gless, both now twu intl. were originally elected locally by running on a pro-AMFA slate.

Hey - no complaints here. Happy to see the 'good ol' boy' and the 'business as usual' network take a hit.

I agree, anything that disrupts the good ol boys is a good thing. I just find it funny how being labeled "AMFA connected" in Tulsa is a bad thing, but on the line it's like a badge of honor. In contrast, anyone labeled "twu connected" on the line won't stand a chance in next years line elections. <_<

"Johnson and Shindi were ID'd by my shop steward as having amfa connections,"

Just curious, but who is the shop steward that is doing the IDing? So what if these two AMTs had AMFA connections? This simply means that they like the idea of a democratic, craft union. Does this shop steward like secret ballots that only he can fill out?
