Slap on the wrist? Fire someone? The contract guys working the ramp are so poorly paid we are lucky to have them show up for work?
As long as nobody cuts their fingers and toes off, its not going to change!Man Tempe, you guys have some really good mathematical formulas over there.
Seems to be WAY to Much of this nonsense going around at all the airlines lately. Obviously the penalties/repercussions are NOT serious enough to REALLY eliminate the problem. A light slap on the wrist is hardly enough when a WORST CASE SCENARIO could be a Major Disaster and loss of lives. Does anyone know, do the Screw-Ups get Time Off or Fired. Seems pretty much a Black and White issue here when it comes to safety. What seems to be The PROBLEM? (The Blame Game holds NO CREDIBILITY with Me.......so don't play that card!)
Following the outsourcing of the 20+ stations back in 2005, I was told that A/C damage from that time on went thru the roof. Most of the stations were outsourced in the April-June timeframe, and the numbers for the rest of that year were more than double compared to the full prior year. Save a few bucks, only to cost the company more in the end. The company is well aware of these issues, and they could care less as the bottom line costs are lower.Fire who ever decided to pay $7's an hour for people to push multi-million dollar aircraft around, to de-ice in the winter, oversee safety and security issues on the ramps across America.... this is an industry issue not just US airways???
I think they top out at $9's an hour???
253 in CLT
Thanks - either way it looks like the US Daily mainline A/C damage stats are only for mainline.Didnt see anything on 253....But yesterday a 737-400, 440 I Think,Blew the #2 Tire and I think there was some Minor Damage to a flap.
