Sure would be nice to have some timeline info from our paid reps about the early out and furlough.

They are to busy figuring out what their chances for re-election are.

That could based on their seniority.

I'm sure it won't come before the judge makes it all official.

Update just came out

AMR Bankruptcy Update for August 22, 2012

August 22, 2012

American Airlines – Court Update
Today, the debtors (American Airlines) filed a motion seeking court approval and authorization of the recently ratified new collective bargaining agreements (CBA’s) with the TWU Mechanic & Related and Stores employee groups.
The agreements reached, came about after an extensive proceeding under section 1113 of the Bankruptcy Code, a lot of hard work by the TWU negotiating committees, during protracted negotiations with American that were extremely hard fought, and at times contentious.
The new CBA’s address all the key areas encompassed in American’s initial section 1113 proposal to the TWU, while at the same time providing for more TWU jobs, annual pay increases, an early out incentive, and enhanced 401(k) contributions. Today’s filing is posted online under Court Updates at: www.twubkfacts.org
A hearing on the motion is scheduled for September 12, 2012 at 10:00am ET. Objections are due on September 5, 2012 at 4:00pm ET.

Here is some info you might want to think about....

I talked with an IBT Local pres on Wed. if the teamsters get in we would be lumped in with the other IBT represented members at what ever local is in the city or the closet region. They would have an atd rep in place and all that we would have to do is elect shop stewards and lower level reps. We will not have control or a seperate local.

If dues were needed at another local such as with LAX and SFO if your station is big enough you could be working side by side with a memeber from a different local. You can attend local meeting but can only vote on issues at your assigned local.

Just another tidbit, if the IBT gets in and you retire after they have been in power for 5 yrs and you have been in the IBT pension. YOU CAN'T GET AN OUTSIDE JOB IN THE SAME FIELD AND COLLECT AN IBT PENSION, SO YOU WOULD HAVE TO GET A JOB IN ANOTHER FIELD. The IBT pension would stop.

Any work group as well has to partician to be accepted into the regional pension and could be turned down if memebers are at certain age (this means old) close to retirement. Since we would not be adding $$$ to fund long enough. AA has already said they would not fund a pension for us so it really is a mute point to go with the IBT.

Another tidbit the IBT also has a seperate health and welfare plan

I don't believe it. That info was not on the flier. Why would the teamsters lie to us? Another one of hundred of reasons to sign a AMFA card and get rid of these dues sucking industrial unions.

Could be of interest. According to the court filing yesterday, the TWU is getting a 4.8% equity stake in the new AA. In exchange for it, several high dollar(hundreds of millions) maintenance grievances were withdrawn in the document by Jim Little. Since it was maintenance that conceded more at the table, more in pensions, and all of the grievances, will maintenance get the bulk of the equity stake?
