"If this airline can't successfully put two airlines together, we're very skeptical about their chances of putting three together," said Jack Stephan, chairman of the unit of the Air Line Pilots Association union at US Airways.

Pretty much sums up my feelings on the entire matter. Bravo Jack Stephan!!!

Greeter.

 Bravo for doing his job I think JS is very lucky that he can still have the faith of two pilots behind him. In the days he spinned the story and now he's a Hero..........

I saw over 400 pilots "behind" him in CLT on Thursday, including myself. My guess is you were probably not one of them. "In the days," indeed. Maybe you missed it. We have moved on. I was not "there" in the days. My judgment speaks on current action. See you at the next event..probably not. Greeter.

Why can't US just operate with 3 seperate pilot contracts until they all become amendable? Frankly I think a couple years of profits and a combined workforce will give you the leverage you need to negotiate what you want.

This rhetoric about how the company profits off the backs of pilots - you agreed to your payscales and rules, why would the company voluntarily give you more? What added value do you bring? If you really want to share in the success of your airline, I suggest you roll the dice and base your compensation more squarely on profitability - with the risks associated with it.

Who says they can't put 2 airlines together? It's not a done job yet, but it was never planned to be done by now.

I had a contract that wasn't amendable till 1999.It was mandatory opened up by the federal government and management to have management walk in one day during mandated negotiations and say here's the offer take it or US shuts down YEA I AGREED

Then you should be prepared to offer the same thing to US management and be willing to back it up. Taking this option off the table makes all other negotiations a waste of time.
