UA 670 diverted to BDL! Why?

My friend is flying the early morning ORD-LGA on UA670.

Everything seemed to be going fine until I just checked the FLIFO and it shows him circling around twice over Eastern PA and now the final destination is scheduled to be BDL. Anyone know why and what happened?
