So some UA pilots are talking about expressing their frustration by staging some sort of action over the Thanksgiving holiday... my question is will it get really bad (Summer 2000) or is it just a few disaffected souls?

Didn't the USAir pilots talk about this on their thread a while back, and then some people got in trouble for it?

Anyway, in all seriousness there's nothing I heard about.

Besides... the way management has short staffed us for so long, and the way they run this company, it doesn't take much for the operation to fall apart. I've seen it time and time again. One weather event or one mechanical problem or one crew late due to insufficient transportation from a layover hotel, and the snow-ball effect turns into an avalanche. The pilots are along for the ride at that point. No amount of good will or extraordinary effort by the pilots can fix the problems this management causes.

I hope the holidays go smoothly. But if they don't, it's just another day of the status quo. Please don't be quick to blame the pilots.

Another irrelevant post Nosty. But nice try.

Things are much different now than in 2000. (But we know you and your buddy USA320piot are still bitter that you were unable to steal our jobs back then. 😉 ) UA has never been as short-staffed as we are now, nor have we had such incapable crew scheduling. UA doesn't need any help from the pilots for it's operation to fall apart. It happens all the time. Every little issue causes a ripple effect and management has ensured that they don't have the tools or the staff to recover.

Like I said to Gopher... I sincerely hope the holidays go smoothly. But if they don't, the traveling public should not be so quick to blame the pilots because of some bogus rumor of a non existent work action. It's just more of the status quo around hear.

PS. How's that union drive going, Nosty?
