Ua Releases Service Reductions

When you have all these folks in the middle of the country saying that "moral values" is the reason they voted for a man who publicly professes his faith in the FUNDY CHRISTIAN God while at the same time seeking to gut the middle class and line his and his oil cronies pockets with blood money, then you realize we have radically dumbed down collectively and are a people of sound bites and superficial images.

Religion has given God a bad name, and she's probably pissed off.

Where can I find that bumper sticker?

Yeah, they are just like the people who killed Jesus Christ.

Fly I am not putting the blame on any group of people for what happened. My post was meant to show the hyprocacy of leadership by showing paralells between present todays American administration and hte leadership during Christ's time. Back then the leaders (leading priest) and the scribes (lawyers), most of them, pretended to be "Godly" people but were more interest in keeping their "perks" and positions of power. Today, Bush claims to be a Christian, but he sides with the rich and powerful (Lorenzo etc.) people who steal the pensions and savings of others. Also the Bush dynasty will do very well because of the present circumstances. I did not mean to open a can of worms. Maybe I should not have posted on this thread. But I hope my explantion clarifies what I meant.l

Let me just say that I am proud to live in a "BLUE" state where moral values are defined by love and love transcending gender. I am proud to live a state where a newly elected mayor is willing to go out on a limb and question the validity of state law by allowing all people, who want to, to get married and have their love and their relationship be legally and socially affirmed and valued, just like a traditional heterosexual relationship. I am pround to live in a state where thousands are willing to take to the streets and protest a questionable war that, as someone previously posted, is apt to further line the pockets of the Bush dynasty....our definition of moral values differ greatly...

I believe that a person's religious faith and private life is personal. I would never force my beliefs on anyone. I would just explain them if asked or the opportunity arose.
Although I do not believe in same sex marriages that is my personal opinion. But I think this issue was stategically used by the republicans. Think about it, were talking about a very small segment of the population, but they magnified it into a threat to cover the real issues of jobs lost going overseas, the decimation of wages and pensions,
out of control medical costs, and the war in Iraq. Now, we got 4 more years and I think that things will get worse. Abortion, gun control, gays and lesbians are to me side issues. The real issues are jobs, medical, and retirement. And I hope I can keep all three.

[/quo] Pilate, the pagan Roman governor of the area ( and a leader in Christ's time) sentenced a man, he knew and pronounced to be innocent, to death (I believe in violation of Roman law).
Another great example of someone doing something immoral and illegal to "advance their career." But Pilate never claimed to be "Godly".

Just remember, it's Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. I'm all for giving them legal rights and a civil union, but do not call it what it's not. There is a big reason why Democrats have been losing elections(three now) in the last 6 years. They are the ones that are out of touch, not the Republicans. We fought for our independence from Europe 250 years ago. If you want socialism like the democrats do, then change your address and move there.

"They are the ones that are out of touch, not the Republicans. We fought for our independence from Europe 250 years ago. If you want socialism like the democrats do, then change your address and move there." Repeat that when someone from YOUR family comes home in a body bag. While the Bushes relax at the dinner table of the Saudi Royal family(oh..thats right the 9/11 murderers came from Saudi Arabia, NOT IRAQ). Better die before you get old and need medicare. Who needs those old people...they're just burdens on the state anyway. But, then again, that's the REPUBLICAN way. I used to be one...now, I get sick to my stomach to think that they are actually... Americans.

You keep forgetting, all of the people voted and it seems that I'm in the majority. They fight so we can disagree like we do. Bush is far from perfect and yes it was a race where the lesser of two evils was picked, But this whole hatred thing is why the democrats keep losing. I don't have a negative opinion of John Kerry as a person, I just don't like his politics. It seems that people(the majority) are tired of the venom that is coming from the left. Don't kid yourself, politicians become that for the same basic reason, they ALL get rich. Not just Bush or Cheney. When you become that powerful and influential, imagine what you can make in the private sector. What they get paid in Congress is peanuts. Time to please wake up. WE can all do better but not when we fight each other.

North by Northwest, well said. I totally agree..
I guess I should just roll over and let them take my deferred compensation (pension)

The day we see the 55 million ANTI-BUSH/CHENY voters support this administration, will be the day we see a memeber of the BUSH or CHANEY family in Iraq serving THEIR honoralbe mission to spread democracy(Bush NOR [i deferred 5 times] Cheny wouldn't know what honorable service is) Forgive us if we refuse to support LIES, DESTRUCTION, THEFT, and ARROGANCE based on newly found religion. After a life time of not knowing the meaning of the word . Since there were no WMD's. Most sane people call what he and that dispicable crowd did...Lying to the nation, with AMERICAN BLOOD ( not to mention the THOUSANDS of poor Iraqi people)on their hands. History will not look kindly on these two. A draft is only a matter of time...

(Deep exhale). Okay, does anyone have specific info/updates on UA's route reductions?

P.S. FWIW, I'm morally opposed to any mainline service going "express."

For years Usairways has played its 3 wholly owned commuters against one another. Who ever works the cheapest gets the new equip. and routes. Look for UAL and US Airways to use the code share for this. Once US Airways gets a deal with all its unions UAL flights and routes will start moving to US until you make a similar deal.

Deltawatch.....

while that sounds good, your theory has a flaw. In the example of the wholly owns...USAir Inc. still got the revenue, no matter which one flew the route. But with USAirways and UAL, the revenue only goes to the carrier that actually carries the pax.....

So if UAL gives up flights to UsAir then they are also giving up revenue....and vice versa. Not to say that some routes/pairs wont change colors, but I dont see a whole sale swapping of routes.

With UAL getting rid a bunch of 737's, and no new deliveries of Airbii.....there were bound to be mainline service reductions/more express flights.
