I have just read with confusion that UA has foreclosed on 777-222 N208UA and that it is up on the auction block October 29, 2004 with starting bids at $50 Million in the offices of Palmer & Dodge LLP in Boston. This is reported by " Speed News" and was confirmed at the NBAA convention last week.

What happened here? Comments - please.

I do not understand with the push towards international why UA has let go of a 777.

It is also N207UA. So both N207UA & N208UA are leaving or have already departed.

It's possible that these are A models (non-IGW), so they could not fly Pacific or many Atlantic routes. They might also already been withdrawn and stored(some are stored in Goodyear Ariz.)

This was in the 2 quarter 10Q filing.

Property additions, including aircraft and aircraft spare parts, amounted to $150 million. In the first six months of 2004, we re-acquired two B737, one B757, and one B777 aircraft (all of which were previously rejected) and rejected four B737, two B747, two B767 and four B777 under Section 1110 of the Bankruptcy Code. Listed in UAL's 8/2/04 10Q filed statement notes.

Those two that were sold was probably two of the four 777's listed above. Go to ual.com, then about united, then to investor relations. In the notes to the financial statements as well as the notes to the 10q's there is a lot of information.

I don't know what aircraft will be part of the 55 or so aircraft that UAL is planning on not having by 3/2005. It could be a range of aircraft or just one kind. There was a mention in the notes that said UAL may or may not be able to restructure aircraft leases which could result in some aircraft foreclosures.

I heard they were getting rid of the 37s. Hope so. Only have audio on those planes, like to see them leave.

It was advised this morning that a UA 777 was re-possessed yesterday, in additon to the above.

Do you have that link? I looked all over for anything remotely like that and don't see it. Enlighten me please.

Good Morning Crack-Heads....for somebody is on drugs starting this sh*t...
A little break down on UAL 777 fleet....

United was going to have 61 777 aircraft in their livery....
The first 16 were "A"markets with 4077 engines, so far 3 have been returned
2366...2367...2370

Next are our bastard "A" market 2 class 777...6 total and accounted for....

Then there are 23 "B" markets with 4090-3 with no crew rest...5 of which have been returned
2789...2990...2705...2707....2708

Then there are 16 "B" markets with 4090-3 and crew rests...1 of which delivery in May 04 was cancelled
2830

Obviously if the aircraft has been returned to the lessor, then I assume they are going to try and do somethng with it....

This is what I have for our current fleet and disposition currently...ALL subject to change of course....

No one has mentioned it thus far, but I believe those aircraft above are going to AI as reported from JustPlanes.com:

"Air India has leased 3 Boeing 777-200ERs for a period of 5 years with the first aircraft due to be delivered in December and the 2 remaining in March and April 2005. All 3 are ex-United Airlines jets. The airline will use the 777s mainly on flights to London Heathrow and Los Angeles."

Now Fly...I might be a little "high strung" at times and most people think I am crazy....but when it comes to airplanes and especially my girls (B777), it's all business.... 😀

Besides....who's walking around here with the Bankok's jokes anyways...LOL

I'll attest to that ... Ronin does love his 'girls.' All night long (grave shift). I doubt that there are many more reliable sources for the current status of UAL's 777 fleet.
How's it looking for staying on property, Ronin?

Real Grim....And the exodus has begun. 2 friends turned in their paperwork this week. One is taking a job with Jetblue at OAK and the other has options with both AWA and JetBlue. Both are top notch guys, real players. This is on top of the 5 guys who got laid off. They had system options but left the company instead. And management talks about why they need "bonus" money to retain "their" talent pool. I seriously doubt anyone here really knows what's going on out there. I've never been worried about our airplanes per se...if you saw what I saw last night...I'm worrying...

I'm sorry to hear that, Ronin. I thought that things were finally turning around for United.
Unfortunately, the high fuel prices are not helping matters.
I imagine that there are also very few of the senior mechanics retiring due to the pension uncertainties. ... that'll make it tough on the junior mechs for quite a while. Let's hope that Tilton somehow figures out a way to pull a rabbit out of the hat and save the pensions; I think that it would be a huge morale boost.
Just continue doing your best; all the best to everyone out there on night shift.
