Thanks to the UAL pilots for helping drive down the standard of living for ALL airline employees!
When are pilots going to wake up and realize that UAL management would pay them $20,000 per year if they can get away with it?
If the pilots keep this up we all will have to be food stamps real soon.

With the AMFA voting down their contract and now striking, don't worry about the 20,000. UAL will be piecemealed out to the industry.

GB,

Geez... we were villifed for supposedly choking that golden goose and RAISING the standard of living for everyone, but I didnt hear any congratulations back then. Only how overpaid we were. And now that we have taken concessions you complain about us not making enough. Make up your mind!!!

why stop at $20000? they wouldn't mind if we worked for free I'm sure.

The explanation is pretty simple...it's a different group that complained last time versus this time.

Of course you're po'd GoingBoeing......you expect us to take the fall so you can continue working.

Borescope,

And what was that? Summer 2000?

While not completely innocent of Summer 2000, we as pilots are also not to blame enitrely for the mess. It has been hashed out here many a time....the actions of some pilots contributed to the delays/cancellations. But no worse than the weather and piss poor manpower planning/scheduling by management.

Why would anyone, not just pilots, work extra/overtime (especially when there is no pay incentive to do so, pilots don't get time and a half or holiday pay or any other pay bumps for flying extra) when the contract promises were reneged on by mangement?

And as far as how rich the contract was supposed to be.....HA! While the hourly rate may have gone up, the number of hours paid droppped. So a 17% raise after 8 years of ESOP wages is not that large of a increase. Was I happy with increase? you bet, but it wasnt as rich as the press liked to report.

How much of a raise did the mechanics get DOS? And didn't you also try to get managements attention that summer in your own way? A judge thought so.

You are correct! I'm mad too, Eddie! [a phrase that people over 45 will remember]

You can go and hide behind your bankruptcy judges robe.UAL and USAir,with the help of their employees,is taking down the standard of living for ALL airline employees.[and my "so called" union the TWU is HELPING you]

Cry me a river. You'd do the EXACT same thing....and you are. Have you accepted a paycut? If you did, then you are just as much to blame as everyone else.

I DID NOT VOTE FOR A PAY CUT. I WILL NOT ACCEPT 3 ROUNDS OF CONCESSIONS WITHOUT LEAVING THE COMPANY!
