GB,
Geez... we were villifed for supposedly choking that golden goose and RAISING the standard of living for everyone, but I didnt hear any congratulations back then.  Only how overpaid we were.  And now that we have taken concessions you complain about us not making enough.  Make up your mind!!!
"When are pilots going to wake up and realize that UAL management would pay them $20,000 per year if they can get away with it?"

why stop at $20000?    they wouldn't mind if we worked for free I'm sure.

Mr.! you can go back in history and read my previous posts from a year ago and see that I have defended what pilots earned.I don't care if you earn $500K per year I'm tired of management and others complaining about the salary I was earning in 2002.
Voluntarily lowering the compensation for the job you perform affects all labor groups and is not good for the future of all airline employees. This action is admitting to management that we are overpayed when one is willing to voluntarily give back wages and benefits.

And what exactly about the past three years has been voluntary?

Yes we may have voted on something but to think it wasn't under duress is wrong. If we didnt vote for the agreement the judge would have (and will) approve what the company asks for. The union decided it was better to negotiate, and have some iota of control over the terms then leave them up to the company and judge.

Now if the union says enough is enough and its time to strike. I strike. And support other groups right to decide that for themselves

No one likes what has happened but right now its a fight for our survival and I could give a damn about how and what we decide at UAL impacts other carriers.

I wouldn't have expected anything less from you not "giving a damn" about how your actions affect all unionized employees at all airlines.Nothing like one union brother or sister watching out for another one.

He has obviously forgotten about the sacrafice made on his behalf by the EAL employees in 1989. Their loss enabled him to enjoy excellent wages and benefits for the last 15 years.
