UAL ramps up merger talks

Wanna bet?

I remember US trying to steal DL last year and they made enough of a fuss to keep it from happening. Count on that happening again.

That was a hostile attempt, this would be agreed upon by both parties.

In the previous merger attempt, UAL employees, most notably the pilot group, had a big lever in the 'employee ownership' program. Since being washed through the bankruptcy wringer, that no longer applies.
Employees from any airline can complain, wish, want, kick, scream, cajole, and pray just as much as they want - and it won't make a bit of difference as to the outcome. The power/money people are driving the bus, and we are all just along for the ride.....

Delta was in bankruptcy also and look the employees change that merge with saying NO USAIR Merge. So you don't know what you are saying and the way USAIR is in the spotlight the people hate usair right now. We don't want USAIR and hopefully the govt will see eye to eye that USAIR is not a good merge even if our CEO agree on it. If Delta can say NO NO NO in bankruptcy so can U N I T E D because we are so U N I T E D on this deal. I don't know any pilot or flight attendant that wants this merge. Your bases aren't what we need. We need a NY base and a southern base and USAIR doesn't have it. CLT is not so southern for RIO and Brazil flights. Florida will be ideal and perhaps Fort Lauderdale since the landing fees are less than Miami.

USAIR is like flying AIR TRAN NOW .

Ever hear of the "summer from hell" at UA?

Seeing how the East pilots are acting, expect a repeat if UA pilots ever face a merger with that group.

I can assure you that a UA merge with US will never happen. Why do you people want to merge anyway? Strange! You haven't even settled this one and you are already looking for another victim.

Our employees will never let it happen. Mark our words on this.

We are the US AIRWAYS , resistance if futile , lower your shields and prepare to be assimilated ..

All this fuss is about LCC buying United.

If it happens it will be the other way around.

And it is obvious over the years what a weak kneed bunch the US pilots are.

This would not be good especially with the US management. The two cultures would destroy both airlines. The UA customer/market is more demanding. If you think things are bad at UA now I guarantee you it will become horrendous. Since the new US management took over they reduced the size of many of the first and business cabins to add more coach seats. The in-flight service is a joke and they continually take stuff away from the FT program. Parker’s idea to raise profits is to add more coach seats, place ads on tray tables etc. If they took over he would never keep E+
Totally bad move and hope it does not happen. The only people that would benefit from this would be CO and AA since most elites would leave.

We could take the time to go back and read the anti-merger rhetoric from the past 2? UAL merger attempts plus the HP "why would we ever want to merge w/ your lousy airline" but why bother-its easier to just watch the same posts without having to waste time looking up the old ones.
