It just doesn't sound likely to happen.

#5 & #3 becoming #1, ok, but #2 and #3 becoming #1 just to big. Too much control of the market
 
CO is strong enough to stand on their own and likely fight off any takeover attempts. There will be no UAL/CO merger unless it's CO that decides to open its purse.
