Republican mantra...turn up the heat about a president who has been out office over 8 years when things come out that Bush was just as close...if not closer...to "getting bin laden" than Clinton was. You can always blame Obama should he mastermind another attack.

If the Democrats or Republicans "get" bin Laden then there is no bogeyman to use as a tool to enable the Republicrats to continue to confiscates our wages and civil liberties with equal glee.

The latest "Health Care Reform" is more of the same Republicrat power grab at play. Chasing bin Laden is a nothing more then a smokescreen to hide the the true agenda which is to strip us of our wages, freedom and ultimately enslave us.

My son was bewildered beyond belief when President Bush, Vice President Cheney and Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld Diverted their attention Away from Afganistan to Iraq., for whatever reason.

And he'll hardly be surprised when I mention this to him.

I leave to go to the cemetery after lunchtime tomorrow.

He perished in Afghanistan(U S Army) about 4-6 months after the "troop diversion" from Afghanistan.

Somehow, remarks about President Clinton, and President Obama seem Irrelevant at the moment !

One small difference. OBL had not done anything while Clinton was in office. OBL had done something while Bush was in office. So I think there should have been a bit more urgency to get him after 9/11 don't you think?

Despite Everything our(and thousands of other familys) have/are enduring, to this day I've never thought President Bush was an evil calculating man, just woefully inexperienced for the job and easily manipulated by true selfish and calculating men.
Which brings me to former Vice President Cheney, Former Secretary of defense Rumsfeld, and general Tommy Franks.
These individuals should have been Indicted, for lying(to congress), and preparing for their trials for War Crimes in Afganistan and moreso for Iraq.

Great job southwind....got us there by golly. Now...go to Wikipedia and look up what Saddam Hussein did to us that would warrant shifting troops away from him and into Iraq. You're right...Clinton should have done something. He didn't. Bush had bin laden cornered and...did nothing. Well...yeah he did do something...he moved the troops to Iraq. I see your side of the argument...if Clinton would have "done something", there might never have been an 9/11 and joanne's son may never have been in Afghanistan.

On the other hand...had Bush paid more attention to minor security briefings like "bin laden determined to strike in America", 9/11 may not have happened either. And...I'll offer my condolences to joanne...her son was fighting a war against terrorists that attacked us. His commander in chief pulled the vast majority of the troops serving with him and sent them to Iraq...who did nothing to us...and leaving bin laden to walk out of a cave in tora bora...and leaving her son open to more danger. I don't see how you can sit there and defend what happened by pointing to Clinton and saying "he did it first".

Two wrongs don't make a right.

OBL is not even mentioned when it comes the twin towers. Whether OBL had any links to the Cole attack is circumspect. Just because he claimed responsibility does not mean he is. So like I said earlier, OBL had not done anything while Clinton was in office. In hind sight yes Clinton should have gone after him but no one had any idea that something like 9/11 was going to occur. After it did, there is no excuse for not going after him. Bush gave up and is no longer worried about OBL so I am not sure why you are so concerned if Bush and his Admin were not.

The news(of late) has former Vice President Cheney "critiquing" President Obama over his announcement, made on national TV the other night, pertaining to his efforts to clean up the mess in Afganistan that HE himself(DC) is(today) responsible for.
