United merger with Usairways?

These are particularly of interest to Star (who doesnt seem to claim us these days, or maybe the sandcastle is too stupid to understand what it is.)

Star does not particularly care about the shuttle. Or PHL.

What they do want (and perhaps the only thing they want from US) is the Caribbean connectivity. If UA ever decided to fly those kinds of routes out of IAD, the need for any unique routes provided to Star by US would be nil.

Another dead giveaway for a merger is that Pineybob was at ORD yesterday. He was probably at UAL headquarters. You know AAA and UAL would not make a move without his input.

Pineybobs visit to ORD.

Not only that, but he chatted with his pilot, USA320Pilot, on the way. To share the news about "Project Carp."

How do you know? I heard they luv PHL and wish the "shuttle" would include PHL.

Why? Most of the Star Alliance allies already have a/c that do not need to stop in the US.

Project Carp? Elucidate, por favor.

Why would they want the shuttle to include PHL? Most of the large Star partners already fly to New York, and some go to Boston. On their own metal. LGA does Star no good, now does it?

But not everyone can justify burning a widebody to every island. US can fill up 319s, however.

Chipper claimed he knew about Minnow as soon as "Just call me Dave stepped onto a plane for Chicago." Ergo, PineyBob going to ORD gets a "Project Carp."

Search this forum for "Project Minnow" and get ready for a chuckle.

Can we sell off the America West part to AirTran or someone lol
Usually I agree with you, however, the west network was something we needed. To continue as a regional under assault? in the northeast is not really a long term option. People forget how limited we were. Because people back east may not nonrev out west too often that does not mean it is not useful. The eastern centric mind set limits us to our detriment - and that has hurt us in the past. To be more open minded(strategic minded to use more corporate speak) about our route system and each areas importance, perhaps would serve The U better. The west network compliments the east side-no need to bag on the west. If you forget the mistakes from the past you are doomed to repeat them( to paraphrase).
