Upgrading CLT-JFK to 175's

As of June 3, 2008 all CLT-JFK is being moved to Republic 175. It seems they will offer a better flying experience on the route.

Seems that my guesses a few months ago of this route possibly going E190 are getting closer with every season. 😀

How does that imply that its getting any closer to mainline service?

Better flying experience, OK sure, but its still an express plane with the same amount of seats when it comes down to it. I can think of several routes off hand that have alternated/switched from CR9 to E75 depending on the latest schedule, but they are all still flown by express today. IMO, there are a lot more important routes that the E190 should be flying before CLT-JFK

I'd like to see PHL-JFK. There are plenty of *A connections to be made. DL just doesn't cut it. Especially if I have to jump terminals to a *A or OW flight.

I don't think he meant Jetblue (flyboy). An upgrade from the CRJ900 to the EMB 175 is a nice upgrade for the US Airways passagengers. Hell, I would rather sit in the back of a E-175 before a Boeing 737 in terms of comfort. However in terms of experience & safety, I would rather have my family and I on a Boeing operated by US Airways.

Just my 2 cents but it dosen't make a bit of difference what type of A/C or the route the bags are always going to be the same. The CRJ-900 has a large stand up space for the bags and you run out of of room with all the roped wrapped bags. The CRJ has no limit to high you can stack the bags for fire suppression where as the 170/175/190 you can't stack to the ceiling. You lose bin space just with the way the bin is designed. For those of you around long enough this F-28 or F-100 with hugh bags with all the wheels busted off the bottom. It just boils down to it make no difference what type of A/C you have in the summer you some times can't get all the crap on the A/C.
