"I'm referring to the recent events that have happened at US Airways. I am under the impression that there is a TON of resentment in the rank and file towards not only their management but their own union leadership."

That is the impression you get when reading this board.
Out on the line, most are "over it" and working as hard as they can ( as evidenced by our recent performance numbers ). Most of the malcontents are gone, the rest are rolling up there sleeves and, frankly, excited about the prospect of the merger and working with our America West counterparts to make the finest airline in the world. I know that I am.

This message board is filled with naysayers, doomsday people, and negative comments. However, on the line it's totally different. The company’s operational performance is much better, people are working harder, the airline made an operational and net profit in March, and the rank-and-file is excited about the merger with America West versus integrating with another company.

Well I sure hope that's correct. The Internet can be a magnet for kooks at times. 😉

Bankruptcy is taking out the high costs. I just hope the AWA folks don't go to down to the Usairways wage scale as they make more.

Could be payraises for the U types??

if the merger go through are not all contracts agreed to by the unions biding until such date when negiotiation starts for pay increase .

A combined HP/US will not be a viable entity until you get the high costs out of the US Airways system.

Jungleclone

After billions of giving back from employees, what is contributing to the extreme higher cost? Could you or ANYBODY on these boards please spell it out? AWA f/a's have a better contract than U and we are at the same pay cap. We are outsourcing left and right with cheap labor. The senior mamas are bailing. I'll move up a thousand numbers this year alone. So PLEASE, how is it cost is SOOOO much higher?

If it is because of too much middle management, then ding, ding, ding...the home offices in Tempe will take care of that.

I think this high cost thing is so 2 years ago and is being exagerated for those who hate labor and will ALWAYS think we make to much.

You are sooooo right on, FirstAmendment.....management has successfully made this company into the 'Have's" and "Have Nots" . And those "Have" will protect their "territory" at all cost. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. That's the way they like it.

More unfounded rumors and propaganda.
