I was wondering if anyone has switched or is a member of this credit union. What do you think about it?
I guess there was an old US Air credit union that people were/are a part of. I don't know if this one is the same. I just came across this, and the APY is excellent. Of course you have to dance through hoops to get all of the benefits it boasts.
Is it worth the hassle of changinging banks?
Anything with the US Airways brand on it worries me as far as customer service is concerned, and I say that as a 15 year employee. 🙁

US Airways Credit Union is NO LONGER with Clearview it is with Continental Federal Credit Union... I've been a member with the ''new'' US credit union and it is AWESOME, I switched everything through them; car, credit card, checking, savings, credit line, 2 personal loans...there are so so helpful and the rates are hard to beat!! I don't even live in PHX anymore and it is always easy to use them via the co-op network. Everyone I know has great experience with them.

I don't know anything about the Continental Credit Union, but the original USAir(ways) Credit Union in Moon Township, PA, changed its name to Clearview Federal Credit Union a few years back when USAirways filed Chapter 11. I can't blame them for changing the the name and distancing themselves from the slo-mo train wreck that has been USAirways.

It's still pretty much the same people....very nice and very helpful. I did note, though, that they have started with the commercial-bank tactics of nickel-and-diming with fees.

With the name change, Clearview also changed their marketing base and expanded their rules for who gets to join. It is not just limited to USAirways employees as it had been. That's good for them, too.

I really do not know of any "new" credit union? I'm still using the old one (Clearview), but to be honest its no longer "by the members for the members" as credit unions were originally established. With all of the fee's they now charge they are not much different than your local bank.

The new one you are speaking of is probably based in the west. Clearview is the name of the old USAirways Credit union based in Moon Township PA and is excellent, especially compared to what Banks are doing. I've been a member for over 20 years and am extremley happy with it. No problems at all. I'm retired since 2001 and will probably use Clearview until they plant me somewhere.

I have done all of my banking there for nearly 20 years. Never a problem. Clearview FCU is a customer friendly place to bank. Again, never a problem. I highly recommend them.

Thanks folks, I guess not too many people have heard of the "New" credit union. I only saw one good response on this board so far. I guess it hasn't caught on yet. I'm leaning towards their almost 5% apy.

The CU is awesome. The girls at the front are golden, and the branch manager Jason is a stand up guy. If you are interested send me a pm and I will give you his # to get in contact with him and he can fill you in on what they offer.
