I invite all of you who think merging with LCC is a great idea to visit the US Airways forum. Go see how they are against seniority integration and how pilots especially better know their low pecking order in the crew lounge.
Go see how they are reacting to merely a RUMOR of a merger..

US Airways still hasn't gotten past the Piedmont merger.

Yea, they're gonna keep Tulsa and DFW high on the LCC list of importance!

YES!!

Everyone run over to the US AIRWAYS FORUM and get further entrenched in FEAR MONGERING and opinions created by many more superior human subjects that allow their minds to run their lives. You can all ignore that your life is really always happening in the present moment, and keep rehashing the past and fretting the future.

Together, you can all live in misery and despair. You can worry and complain about that which you have no control.
You can pretend that wondering around in fear about the future because of what has happened in the past will surely make you a special person, it will define who you are, it could even make others understand and confirm that you are improtant.

Together you might be able to find some common ground with another over there, that will surely give you pause that you are indeed worthy of living on this planet. You can argue and complain with others that are living in fear.

As you do this though, I must inform you that "living a life of peace" a life of "quality and satisfaction" will be non-existant.

Let us all know how that is working for you!

I suppose that Jetblue will keep all of those mtc facilities open should AA merge with them.
Your comment about the Piedmont merger is a bit of a stretch to say the least being that is was 22 years ago.
Are you folks at AA over with the TWA merger yet? I'm sure that anyone who is a regular on here is fully aware of what is posted on the US part of this site. Keep in mind that there are only a select group that post under the pilots topic, and not all share the views that they do. I'm sure that a majority of that group would like to move ahead already. If your union leadership had indeed met with Parker, I'm sure this has all been discussed, and what is required to move forward.
Is this topic a last ditch desperate effort to sway everyone over to your side?
The fat lady is clearing her throat, and getting ready.

If the UCC decides that this is something they want, we have no say. We elected our board members in our unions and they have/will decide/d for us. They have seats on the board, and don't think this has not been decided on already.

Anyone who thinks we are going to survive as a stand alone needs to get a grip on reality.

Just remember that labor constitutes one-third of the UCC and the remainder of the parties will be interested in seeing pretty solid proof that any party that makes a merger proposal be able to demonstrate that they have a pretty good chance of making what they promise come to reality.
Unlike other mergers, there are many, many potential suitors for AA - not to speak of the likelihood that AMR is able to look back at a half dozen BK cases involving carriers that did survive BK in the process of coming up w/ AMR's plan of reorg.
.
The chances remain very high that AMR will emerge on its own and that even if competing bids occur, LCC probably cannot come up w/ a superior bid to other parties.
.
But there are still 6 months before the UCC will even be required to entertain the option of competing PORs - so taking a deep breath and turning off the US media machine is exactly what is in order.... even though the operators of this forum are happy to see the controvery continue.

Dude, what are you smoking?

Everyone is over the Piedmont merger, it was back in 1989. Your grasping.

Every group on the property has reached an agreement on Seniority after the HP/US Merger, everyone agreed to dovetail.

The Pilots went to arbitration and it was done, the east pilots are unhappy and are fighting it, every other group is done.

Dont let the facts get in your way.

Wait until Parkers bid hits the news wires. They're gonna need fire hoses to clean up the mess they're gonna make. 🙂

Piedmont merger? You need to get out more. The main problem with US is that there is a pilot cockfight for the cockpit. It's about who gets the pilot seat.

Where have you been? US talks of merger at least once a year. I call it merger wolf, as in the boy who cried WOLF! Delta, United, Continental, and some that aren't worth mentioning! I guess they're the only ones who see that last merger with America West as successful.

I mean who needs reality TV when you have the pilot's forum at US. As far as this rumor of a merger, well even if AA/US merge, the wolf was bound to show up sometime.

In the mean time don't lose any sleep.

Btw, I don't know what the TWA stapling ordeal was, but the fas are ticked about it.

Peace!

yep and I dont blame the TWAers as AA axed them after say a yr or 2. Id be the same way as they afte rbeing horribly treat by aa too! As for the US pilots in the event of a merger andif the cards are played right, that pilot crap would quickly disappear AA pilots union would probably take over and use the seniority DOH thing but we shall see

They cant ignore the arbitration results, its legal and binding.
