US Airways' Future Destinations in 2007?

US Airways wants to start flying next spring to Brussels, Belgium, and two other European cities that haven't been identified, industry officials said. The airline, which already has service to 16 European destinations from Philadelphia, could also start nonstop flights to six more cities in Europe - three each in 2008 and 2009 - if the (PHL) airport has sufficient gates, (US AIrways CEO Doug) Parker said.

on good authority with upper managment at us airways, besides brussels the other 2 european cities to be announced in spring 07 is:

Moscow & Vienna.

767 is being taken off the shannon turn from PHL for Vienna and shannon will get a 757 so the 767 should become a senior a/c.

Shannon was already a 757 this summer. Perhaps you mean Dublin, which as of now, is loaded in the system as a 757 starting next May.

Isnt that 767 going for the second PHL-FRA flight?

We have no aircraft for International expansion and no aircraft orders on the books except a problematic A380 airbus. Philadelphia government officials know this

US Airways has and continues to look at the used aircraft market just like it did with the ATA B757s. Management wants to obtain the best possible product at the best price. Additional aircraft are not yet needed for the 2008 and 2009 spring European expansion, but, can be obtained when necessary.

How many 757 did US get and how many did we give back and the pass year? So US is set for International expansion till 2009? So is there a carrot to be dangle to ALPA and the city of PHL. HOW CAN WE INTERNATIONALLY EXPAND with NO NEW AIRCRAFT? Am I missing something?

4 of our current east 757's will be etops certified for the summer season.

I would not be surprised to see Prague added. I was there in May and it was wall to wall, elbow to elbow with tourists.

My wish list for expansion would be PRG, ATH, and SVO.

no prediction, but hoping for a PVD-LAS red-eye. This could be made possible with an aircrft that would have RONed in PVD anyway...
