US AIRWAYS might up bid for DL another 1 BILLION

Throw in some powdered creamer and it's a done deal. I heard on some news channel that the creditors flew US's FC and were so appalled that they demanded more money be put on the table.
Reinstall the closets, put glassware on all East flights and roll out a new flavor of Calzone.....It's DONE. Even Delta will say "I'm YOURS Dougie, and now you fly to KIEV!" Really!

Somebody needs to remind Doogie that he's NOT at the craps table in Vegas for crying out loud! Personally, I think he's nuts.

Later,
Eye

I'm with you! It is almost embarrassing now, it really appears like he has megalomania. Just like a two year old screams for a lollipop, he seems to be metaphorically ranting "I want Delta, I want Delta, get me Delta"! Sheesh...know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em.

Amateurish, and unpolished.

Its easy to throw billions around when its not your money. Heck give them the 2 billion they asked for doogie. Then you can screw everything up, get fired by the BOD, recieve a gawdy buyout package, and live in luxury for the rest of your life.

Not counting just the Termination Fee that will be paid to DL creditors when the DOJ axes the deal, anyone want to take a stab at how much this “mergerâ€￾ is really going to cost in the end?

More than they saved with no glassware, powdered creamer, rubber calzones, and bad wine. And let's not forget reductions in FC cabin size, more seats squeezed into Y, no closets, and the long distance charges saved because they don't return phone calls.

According to a report on msnbc.com, some creditors asked LCC to raise its bid more than $2 billion.

"The Journal said some of Delta's creditors approached US Airways late Friday, suggesting US Airways up its bid by more than $2 billion. It isn't known whether the increased bid has swayed any creditors on the committee, the newspaper said."

What the hey...it's only money...no money for employees, but plenty, plenty for stakeholders...

Dougie should up his offer to an offer no one can refuse...do I hear $15 billion, going once, going twice....

Well damn.....I was jumping for joy!! No wonder FOX News is called FAUX News !?!? But there were 4 others sitting in the bar area and we all said the same thing....WOW !?!

And here I was hoping to have a good day. Oh well. Now in the CLT club, pouting. 🙁

Maybe we can convince Richard Branson to buy US since he's having difficulty getting Virgin America off the ground.

"Synergies are something that the CEO basically has to force to happen, because organizations are, generally, like bodies in motion that tend to stay in motion. It's very hard to get big organizations to change. And it takes really a very powerful mandate to force things to happen."

Basic rules of the jungle. Hostile takeover, add value, remove competition and acquire valuable assets. I am not endorsing or against this, but not surprised.

Airlines have never played by the rules of the jungle. They are there own animal when it comes to the business side. If you try and apply the rules from an outside industry to the way an airline should be run you would fail. No other industry out there as cyclical and depended on high capital expenditures (Airplanes) and extremely labor intensive.

Business is business. Airlines, toilet paper, automobiles, manufacturing, etc.

Revenue, costs, supply and demand. labor, customers. Eat or be eaten.

Is anyone else starting to feel embarrassed for Doogie and his obsession with Delta? Move on already, they're not interested!

I hope all the labor groups are watching his willingness to throw BILLIONS around.

This is a business deal, and this is how business works every day. It is like watching sausage being made. A lot of wow's and yecch's.

Ultimately, a deal is in the works, and we haven't seen the last offer.

Sigeur el dinero.
