What's new

USAir on the Simpson's this week.

Several years ago on a Simpson's episode, I don't recall the details, but it was a scene at an airport and there were flight problems and the sign at the ticket counter said, Ameriwestica Airlines.

That was from the episode "Bart on the Road". Principal Skinner checked in at the AmeriWestica ticket counter for a flight to Hong Kong. 1996.

David Spade and Helen Hunt- Total B@stard Airlines

Intercom: This concludes the safest part of our journey. Thank you for flying Total B@stard Airlines. As we indicated at the start of the flight, we at Total B@stard Airlines are bitter about the career paths we have taken, and we do then to take that out on our passengers. We at Total B@stard Airlines realize that in your travel plans you have a choice of many airlines, but we'd like to thank you for flying the blue skies of Total B@stard. 🙂

Why would it date the episode? Everybody but employees still calls it USAir.

In fact, I was in the boarding area in PHX late last Sunday night, and the agent boarding the flight to San Jose thanked everyone on the PA for flying with USAir tonight. I'll bet she never liked it when others called her former airline AMERICAN West. And now she doesn't even know the name of the airline she works for.
I still call it USAir. In my announcements, everything.
How rediculous is the name USAIRWAYS. Doesn't even sound right. Paid someone a million dollars to come up with that name change....it's USAir folks; everyone on the East calls it that.

That is my favorite paint scheme. Silver bird with the burgandy and red lettering. My favorite airplane too.
