What's new

USairways FFP

US should just market their Domestic First class the same way NK (spirit does) they call it the "Big Comfy Seat". Cause that's all you get, a bigger seat.

They could call it "big, filthy, duct-taped, pen-marked seat!"

Speaking of US F, I was booking a multi-city today, TRI-CLT-RIC-LGA-CLT-TRI (what fiasco with the DM side of the web and phone rez down, BTW!) and I selected non-refundable coach and the fare was $450. I selected F just for the heck of it and the price was $2000! Someone is on crack! Five segments, only two of which are mainline and have F, and that is $2000? The unrestricted coach and "automatic upgrade" fares were around the same price. Who in their right mind would pay that!?

One more thing...it was less to fly the above than it was to do TRI-LGA RT through CLT. Go figure.

The pricing is way off...but of course, that is to make up for those $100 RT trancons, I guess?? <_<

I have to say, I would be upset if this benefit would go away. I like Upgrading my Mom or Dad with my tier. If they were to ever take it away, I'd say it should be kept for first-hand family such as spouse/significant other as well as parents/kids. Biz partners and colleagues shouldn't be getting companion upgrades under a new policy(if there was one that was going to be initiated.)

You have obviously never traveled with a boss and gotten the brownie points for enabling to sit in F for free, due to your status. Trust me, you'd be the one sitting in Y if only you could get upgraded, and your boss were left sitting in the back. 😉

But SS255, don't forget - when King upgrades his parents he effectively upgrades his bosses. Same idea really...
