This was right out of the mouth of APA Pres. Dave Bates at the MIA union meeting. Bates said he was recently at an industry conference and personally talked to Scott Kirby.

That all depends on how it is handled. AA has a track record of merging with airlines, only to dismantle them soon afterwards. Should anything take place with US at some point, it could be a combined carrier on the same level as DL and UA. Only time will tell, and none of us on the front lines have any input as to what takes place.

I'm sure other airlines wouldn't mind merging with AA either. Isn't this Dave Bates the same guy who was telling his membership that AA is looking into chapter 7 liquidation?

As I read the header, US is targeting AA for acquisition/merger - THEY would be the aggressor/acquirer, not the Centrepork infestation as your reference to TWA implies.

Question - if true (many doubts here), is US equivalent to AA on the cluster#### scale or are they better managed? Do they have a union that could easily remove the TWU were a vote held? Are they fair to their people or do they get off on lying just because they can as does Centrepork andthe twu?

At US they havent settled F/As and Pilots after 6 or 7 yrs following the America Worst Merger thats just for starters I hope we dont merge or acquire AA but if we do we need a whole new entire mgmt team

That holds true within the pilot group due to the ongoing east vs west seniority issue. IMO the only way out of that mess is another merger with all of the pilots groups starting from scratch, or a split-up of the company.

If there us one thing US needs more than ever - it is a change in management.

Why do you blame managment especially since US has had a few since 1989 and the same labor issues have remained...... If the two were to merge in my humble opinion it would be US as the buyer...Just saying...Only one way to find out...Watch and see...
